Early one morning someone strapped a remote camera to a RC airplane and flew it right over Reston Town Center. Being able to see so much of this in such high quality video is truly amazing. I love how it takes off, cuts across a busy street and soars above the real estate building. And the landing is also fun to watch too!

David Kernell, the son of a prominent Tennessee Democrat, hacked into the Yahoo email of Sarah Palin after the press blabbed about the email address in the paper. The jury returned a guilty verdict on unlawful access to a computer, which is a misdemeanor. Plus a guilty verdict on the obstruction of justice charge. Not guilty on wire fraud and a mistrial on the identity theft crime. Seems if he didn’t try to lie about it and destroy evidence, he’d've gotten away with a slap on the wrist. The obstruction charge has a 20 year sentence, but he will likely do 5 years or less.

A federal jury has found former UT student David Kernell guilty of obstruction of justice and unauthorized access in the breach of Sarah Palin’s e-mail.
The case is a mistrial on count one, the charge of identity theft.
The jury found Kernell not guilty on count 2, the charge of wire fraud.
Unauthorized access is a misdemeanor lesser included charge from count three, which accused Kernell of felony unlawful computer access.
The jury found Kernell guilty of obstruction of justice. That carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, with a fine up to $250,000.
The jury was to decide Kernell’s innocence or guilt; the judge will decide sentencing.
Charges, possible sentence
•Count three: unlawful computer access
Maximum 5 years in prison
$250,000 fine
3 years supervised release
Lesser included misdemeanor offense on count 3 carries a maximum of 1 year in prison
•Count four: obstruction of justice
Maximum 20 years in prison
$250,000 fine
5 years supervised release
Seems fair. I wonder if the Palins should sue the Kernells in civil court for the trouble they had to go through dealing with this? And as a lesson to everyone: Use good strong passwords on your accounts.

Novartis has taken a step closer to creating a drug that will alleviate some of the neural problems suffered by those with the Fragile X genetic disorder. And researchers are also hopeful that the drug may be able to treat autism too.

An experimental drug succeeded in a small clinical trial in bringing about what the researchers called substantial improvements in the behaviors associated with retardation and autism in people with fragile X syndrome, the most common inherited cause of these mental disabilities.
The surprising results, disclosed in an interview this week by Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical giant that makes the drug, grew out of three decades of painstaking genetic research, leaps in the understanding of how the brain works, the advocacy of families who refused to give up, and a chance meeting between two scientists who mistakenly showed up at the same conference.
“Just three years ago, I would have said that mental retardation is a disability needing rehab, not a disorder needing medication,” said Dr. Thomas R. Insel, director of the National Institute of Mental Health, who was told of the Novartis trial results. “Any positive results from clinical trials will be amazingly hopeful.”
The gene for fragile X was discovered in 1991. Work since then has found that fragile X patients seem to experience an overload of unchecked synaptic noise — synapses being the junctions between brain neurons. The Novartis drug and others like it are intended to lower the volume of this noise so memory formation and high-level thinking can take place, allowing children to develop normally.
Believe it or not there are lots of Aspergers and Autism advocates that do not want a cure for the disease because they feel that the disease is what makes them special or extraordinary. But most families will be relieved to get their hands on a cure.

A horrifying story out of China where a man attacks a roomfull of 4 year olds with an 8-inch butcher knife, stabbing 28.

The screams of the 4-year-olds inside the kindergarten could be heard out in the street. When people ran in to investigate, they found what one witness said was a scene “too horrible to imagine” — blood everywhere as a knife-wielding man slashed 28 children, two teachers and a security guard Thursday in the second such school attack in China in two days.
Experts called it a copycat rampage triggered by similar incidents Wednesday and last month. They said the wave of school attacks falls amid poor care for the mentally unstable and growing feelings of social injustice in the fast-changing country.
Most of the recent school invasions have been blamed on people with personal grudges or suffering from mental illness, leading to calls for improved security.
China likely has about 173 million adults with mental health disorders, and 158 million of them have never had professional help.
They don’t have guns so the crazies don’t do school shootings- they attempt to slaughter tiny children with knives! See how they blame the spree on “social injustice?” I guess that’s commie code for too much capitalism going on. I think the wealth is going to get redistributed some more.
And think about this- The number of crazies, idiots and insane in China is almost as big as our whole country’s population!

The jury has reached unanimous decisions on three charges- wire fraud, unauthorized access to a computer and obstruction of justice, but still can’t decide if he is guilty of identity theft. While they haven’t said what the verdict is yet, I am guessing guilty.

A federal jury is headed for a fourth day of deliberating the fate of a Tennessee college student accused of hacking into Sarah Palin’s e-mail account.
The jury in Knoxville told the judge on Thursday that they are deadlocked on one charge but have reached unanimous decisions on three others. They adjourned in the afternoon and will return Friday.
The jurors declined to announce their verdicts on charges of wire fraud, unauthorized access to a computer and obstruction of justice. The deadlocked charge is identity theft.
Former University of Tennessee student David Kernell is charged with breaking into the e-mail while Palin was the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008.
The 22-year-old faces up to 50 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
I don’t think the identity theft charge really fit the crime. Its not like he stole her credentials and opened up a new line of credit in her name. But the rest of the charges will probably send him up the river for at least five years.

The determined pair then decided to use Pearl’s retirement money to find a surrogate mother and buy a donor egg to inseminate with Phil’s sperm. They placed an ad asking for an open-minded surrogate, and Roxanne Campbell applied. The three met up a few times and hit it off.
Gadzooks. All three of these loons should be jailed. Two for the incest and the third for putting a baby human in the hands of these animals.

I saw this epic thread on FARK talking about all of the awesome toys kids had in the 70′s, which was when I was a lad. I was surprised at some of the toys I saw- Bulletman the Human Bullet- I had completely forgotten I had that guy. My big brother always complains that Mom tossed out his GI Joe action figures. And though we didn’t have the Green Machine, there were several friends in the neighborhood that had some, and they were truly the ride of choice.
We also had a set of lawn darts. We would deliberately try to throw these at each other. I had also forgotten about the Jaws game. The object was to fish items out of the mouth before its rubber band snapped the jaw shut. And Evel Kneivel was all the rage, as were the Planet of the Apes poseable action figures.

An Iranian cleric has deemed that women are whores if they get a suntan. And that’s gonna lead to earthquakes. So for the greater good, they are going to start rounding up women with tans and putting them in prison. Hilarious!

Iran has warned suntanned women and girls who looked like “walking mannequins” will be arrested as part of a new drive to enforce the Islamic dress code. A national crackdown would be extended to women who have been deemed to be violating the spirit of Islamic laws. He said: “The public expects us to act firmly and swiftly if we see any social misbehaviour by women, and men, who defy our Islamic values. In some areas of north Tehran we can see many suntanned women and young girls who look like walking mannequins.
“We are not going to tolerate this situation and will first warn those found in this manner and then arrest and imprison them.”
The announcement came shortly after Ayatollah Kazim Sadighi, a leading cleric, warned that women who dressed immodestly disturbed young men and the consequent agitation caused earthquakes.
Those burkas also cover up all the bruises.

I had no idea until yesterday that you could go to another country for the expressed purpose of committing suicide. But you can in Switzerland. A company there called of all things, “Dignitas” will murder you with your consent and then dump your remains in a jar at the bottom of Lake Zurich. And for some reason people are upset because Dignitas has “disrespected” the remains?

Scores of urns containing human ashes have been found dumped in a lake near the Swiss suicide clinic Dignitas. One estimate puts the number discovered 30ft down on the bed of Lake Zurich at 300 or more.
The urns bear the logo of a cremation service thought to be used by Dignitas, the controversial organisation where more than 100 Britons have ended their lives.
It is not known if the remains of any British ‘suicide tourists’ are involved.
The urns were discovered by chance when divers from a rescue service were looking for a lost sunshade from one of their boats.
After retrieving 13 urns they notified the Environment Agency and police divers were called in. One said: ‘After 50 we stopped counting. They lay there in a big heap.’
Environment Agency spokesman Wolfgang Bollack said: ‘We have filed a criminal complaint against unknown persons for disturbance of the dead.
‘The retrieved urns are being kept in a place respecting their dignity.’
Last night Lesley Close, whose brother John died there aged 55 in May 2003, after suffering with motor neurone disease, said: ‘This underlines the need for change in British law on the subject of assisted suicide. ‘We should be absolutely certain what happens to the remains of our loved ones after they are dead. We need our own laws.’
Wait, what? So people who didn’t give a crap about their own lives somehow want their remains treated better than a flush down the sewer? Those 300 urns at the bottom of the lake represent 300 families who didn’t give a crap about their loved ones when they were alive, NOR when they went overseas to snuff it. Otherwise, they would have reclaimed the remains and kept them and disposed of them on their own.
And now the ghouls come out begging to enact laws in their own country so people can simply be flushed down their own sewers rather those of another country.

Nothing plugs that big gaping hole in your heart like a black baby. Raising a black kid alone? Hell, all the “sistahs” are doing it with no apparent ill effects on society at large, right?

There are still a lot of ex communists that wish they were back in the USSR running the Ukraine government. Those that wish to have closer ties with the Western world aren’t happy about the direction of the current regime.

So the Mexican government, upset by Arizona’s smart new law that enforces its border security, has issued a dire travel warning for its citizens, alerting them that they might be “bothered” to show their papers.

Mexico’s government is warning its citizens about travel to Arizona because of a tough new immigration law there.
The travel alert from the Foreign Relations Department urges Mexicans in Arizona to “act with prudence and respect the framework of local laws.”
It says that the law’s passage shows “an adverse political atmosphere for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors.”
It says that once the law takes effect, foreigners can be detained if they fail to carry immigration documents. While enforcement details are not yet clear, the alert says “it should be assumed that any Mexican citizen could be bothered and questioned for no other reason at any moment.”
What a friggin’ laugh! OMG you might have to show papers, which to any citizen of one country travelling in another, you might have to show papers. How is this not standard procedure world wide? And why do you have to alert people that when you visit a foreign country you have to have documentation?
Meanwhile, our government has a real travel warning for US citizens visiting Mexico. Remember when our Embassy workers were murdered in cold blood in drug-gang-related violence? Our warning here says:
Recent violent attacks have prompted the U.S. Embassy to urge U.S. citizens to delay unnecessary travel to parts of Durango, Coahuila and Chihuahua states (see details below) and advise U.S. citizens residing or traveling in those areas to exercise extreme caution. Drug cartels and associated criminal elements have retaliated violently against individuals who speak out against them or whom they otherwise view as a threat to their organizations. These attacks include the abduction and murder of two resident U.S. citizens in Chihuahua.
So there you have it. If you’re Mexican you might get stopped and asked for papers visiting Arizona. If you are an American citizen, however, you might get raped or abducted by illegal aliens in Arizona. Sounds to me that its safer to be Latino in AZ.

You bring your kids to a grand opening of a furniture store that features live gators and then get pissed because they get tossed a few bunnies as snacks?

Part of the celebration of the grand opening of a new business in Los Lunas included an exhibit of real live alligators, but some people who went there said they were shocked that it was a little too real.
“When we walked up somebody tossed a live bunny into the pool for the alligators to eat,” said Amara Heising.
Some of the people who were there told Action 7 News it was billed as a family-friendly event with rides and exhibits for the kids, including a couple of live alligators.
Heising said she took her 4- and 3-year-old grandchildren to the grand opening expecting some fun, but as the afternoon wore on, things got ugly.
‘There was a child’s playhouse right next to this pool where these alligators were being thrown little bunnies and mice. It was horrible,” Heising said.
Amara Heising, the fat stupid grandmother obviously prefers her gators starving. What would she prefer the gators eat? Tofu?
And I bet this story makes Miriam Sakewitz cry.

Obama’s only job was as a community organizer before he moved to his new career of running the country into the dirt. That community in Chicago he organized? More deaths than Afghanistan and Iraq combined in the last year. Which should tell a whole lot about where the country is headed if the community he once organized, flooded with Democrat values, no white evil republicans, is murdering each other off.

Two state representatives called on Gov. Pat Quinn Sunday to deploy the Illinois National Guard to safeguard Chicago’s streets.
Chicago Democrats John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford said they want Quinn, Mayor Richard Daley and Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis to allow guardsmen to patrol streets and help quell violence. Weis said he did not support the idea because the military and police operate under different rules.
“Is this a drastic call to action? Of course it is,” Fritchey said. “Is it warranted when we are losing residents to gun violence at such an alarming rate? Without question. We are not talking about rolling tanks down the street or having armed guards on each corner.”
What he envisions, Fritchey said, is a “heightened presence on the streets,” particularly on the roughly 9 percent of city blocks where most of the city’s violent crimes occur.
Weis previously identified those “hot spots” and said he plans to create a 100-person team made up of selected and volunteer police personnel to respond to crime there. If guardsmen were to assist police, they could comprise or contribute to that force, Fritchey said.
So far this year, 113 people have been killed across Chicago, the same number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined in the same period, Fritchey said.
“As we speak, National Guard members are working side-by-side with our troops to fight a war halfway around the world,” Fritchey said. “The unfortunate reality is that we have another war that is just as deadly taking place right in our backyard.”
So Chicago can’t control its black population and they want the national guard to assist a “volunteer force” to stop crime? Lemme guess, community organizers with badges?
Notice however that if we were to deploy the National Guard on the borders to help stop illegal immigrants these same democrats would be screaming about discrimination and racial profiling. But inner city blacks? No problem there.
