Megan Williams Lied About West Virginia Torture, Rape and Hate Crimes
Since I have been a blogger, I have rarely ever written about a story where I was later proven to be wrong about the facts. It was a matter of pride with me that despite my opinions on a matter, you couldn’t dispute the facts that I presented on my blog here. This was always the case, except for one story. The Megan Williams story. to me, it was the one major story I blogged about where it appeared, I was way off base.
Megan was tortured all right. Tortured by love!
To refresh your mind, In September of 2007, a 20 year old black girl was “rescued” from a dirty trailer in West Virginia. She had claimed that she was kept as a prisoner, forced to eat dog food and her own feces. She was forced to give oral sex to her boyfriend’s mother. She had been stabbed multiple times, choked with an electrical cord and beaten regularly, all the while being called a nigger. All of my instincts told me this was an outright lie. I wrote originally here that the press was drooling over this story because:
The press, completely disappointed that the whole Duke Lacrosse hate crime story unravelled, have creamed their collective jeans in celebration of this new story. The liberal press loves nothing more than a good hate crime.
I knew this didn’t happen the way it was written simply because Megan Williams and Bobby Brewster were dating. Even in the most disapproving family, this behavior doesn’t happen when the relationship goes sour. I had a feeling Megan Williams was lying. Did she have something to hide that would make her lie? As it turned out, Megan Williams had spent the whole summer at the Brewster’s house hiding out because she was wanted for writing bad checks. So she was hardly a kidnap victim.
But she was in an abusive relationship for sure, and had been warned by the police to stop coming around the trailer. Even Christie Messer, the sister of the alleged kidnapper, had tried to convince Megan to stop coming to the trailer when she was found eating mac and cheese out of a bowl on the floor. She insisted on staying because she loved Bobby Brewster.
Soon Megan Williams’ story began to change and she began to receive gifts from hatemongers and race baiters. She participated in marches with Malik Shabbazz of the New Black Panters Party.
Even the prosecutor in the case wanted Megan Williams to shut up. She kept changing her story, and if any defense lawyers for the West Virginia Six and were worth a damn they could use Megan’s own words against her and the defendents would go free. The prosecutor even petitioned to get Megan Williams temporary guardianship for her own good, and also so he wouldn’t lose what looked like a sure-fire case.
The case ended in February of 2008 with confessions, plea bargains and indictments. Six people went to jail. Now Megan Williams is recanting her testimony and is saying she made everything up because she was angry with her boyfriend, Bobby Brewster.

Seven people pleaded guilty for their part in abusing Megan Williams — but now Williams says that abuse never happened.
She will hold a press conference Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio, to recant her claims of abuse.
“She has decided she has been living this lie for approximately two years and she has decided to tell the truth,” her lawyer said. “She fabricated the story and she did this in retaliation because she was having a relationship with one of them.”
Even Al Sharpton, who was a cheerleader for the marches involving Williams, and had given her 1000 bucks to help her buy Christmas presents, is saying to let the West Virginia Six out of jail.
Reverend Sharpton went to West Virginia and stated that hate crimes should be investigated and he gave her $1000 from his pocket of his personal money. Reverend Sharpton did not participate in any marches and rallies but did follow it on his radio show as most media did.
According to Reverend Sharpton: “When I received the call yesterday I urged her attorneys to go public if in fact, she was recanting, and I sent the prosecutors a letter who the attorney claimed was ignoring him. I urged him not to ignore the claims if in fact Ms. Williams is recanting. And despite the extensive records of the accused, they should then not be incarcerated.
So why did six rednecks make confessions? Because each of them were ratting on the other in exchange for a lighter sentence. Given the recant of Megan Williams and the fact the arrests were based on a hoax, they should all be released from prison.

I think Ms. Williams should be charged with a hate crime for her unforgivable accusations against these white men. This is the very definition of a hate crime, one specifically carried out and targeted against white victims entirely due to their race. I think an appropriate sentence would be about ten times what one of her victims was sentenced to.
I am sorry but 6 people don’t confess to a crime they didn’t commit and not file an appeal. It even says in the article she didn’t testify vs these guys but they were prosecuted by police evidence. It sounds to me that someone got to Ms. Williams unethically. 6 People in general 7(PD) different perspectives 6 guilty pleas it just doesn’t add up.

I don’t know how to explain it either. No one had a good lawyer. They were all public defenders. There was a history of abuse that had been documented by the police over the months leading up to the incident. Would seven people turn on each other to cut plea deals knowing they were screwed if they didn’t? Was the prosecutor just zealous because he had a national case on his hands?
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

And I don’t for the life of me get how you can come to the logic, that because she was “dating” one of them, that she could not be held captive and sexually abused. Are you like the Taliban; you don’t believe a man can rape his wife? Date rape never happens? Men don’t beat and murder their wives (and vise versa)?

Why do you insist this happened? Fact is, you want it to have happened, so it can confirm your own racist views against white people. I read your piece. You excoriate Megan Williams’ lawyer who tried to set the record straight and blame him for using her for publicity, yet you completely gloss over the fact that Malik Shabbaz, a race hustler, did this very thing prior to the guilty verdict!
Either way- one way or the other- Megan Williams is a documented liar. Should six people be in jail based on a liar’s charges? I guess to you, they do if they are white.
