Bugsy Siegel- Las Vegas’ First Blackhat Security
I’m out at Blackhat in Vegas and I stumbled on this monument planted next to the chapel at the Flamingo Hotel. It talks about the notorious gangster Bugsy Siegel who took quite a few security precautions to protect himself.
Despite having such a well secured homebase, Bugsy left himself open and vulnerable for a Dame. Yeah, see?
If Bugsy was the first Vegas Blackhat, I reckon his assassins would have been hackers.

I love this campaign by the Monte Carlo Casino. Mostly because it pokes fun at vegans who look like they dumpster dive to find clothes. Like This Post? Rate it and tell your friends! Click the Share button below.

This was a pork tenderloin rubbed in chili and chipotle, drizzled with a sweet barbecue and hot chipotle sauce. On the side was a cornmeal wrapped in a corn husk and a twice-baked potato with chipotle…

Beatles Love, originally uploaded by BelchSpeak. The view outside of my window at Caesar’s Palace for the BlackHat convention, posted mostly to make my wife groan with envy. So close, but yet so far! I did find out that Bobby Flay has a Mesa Grill here on premises and I might have to go and…

Black Hat Briefings, originally uploaded by BelchSpeak. I have been in the Infosec field for over 10 years but have never had the opportunity to attend the BlackHat briefings in Las Vegas. I went to Defcon once when I worked at DHS but have been unable to attend these hacker conferences since. I have mostly…

Following a hot tip, OJ has now managed to expand his search for Nicole Simpson’s and Ron Goldman’s real killer within the confines of a Las Vegas jail. If someone can slip a mirror into the cell with him, his search may finally be over. From the AP here: O.J. Simpson, who went from American…
