Suck It, Stoners! Feds Say Pot Has Zero Medical Value
This news is going to harsh quite a few buzzes.

The federal government ruled on Friday that marijuana has no accepted medical use and should remain in the same class of drugs as heroin.
The decision comes nearly nine years after marijuana supporters asked the government to reclassify the drug to take into account the growing body of research conducted across the globe that proves it’s effective in treating certain diseases, reports The Los Angeles Times.
The paper spoke to advocates who criticized the ruling but are pleased that the government has finally responded, which allows them to appeal to the federal courts.
Joe Elford, chief counsel for Americans for Safe Access told the Times, (and noted pothead) he was not surprised by the decision, which came shortly after the Obama administration announced it would not tolerate large-scale commercial marijuana growing operations.
It is clearly motivated by a political decision that is anti-marijuana,” he said. He noted that studies demonstrate pot has beneficial effects, including appetite stimulation for people undergoing chemotherapy. “One of the things people say about marijuana is that it gives you the munchies and the truth is that it does, and for some people that’s a very positive thing.
Ah, the munchies argument. All those pot dispensaries in Colorado are to treat the thousands and thousands of people in the state undergoing chemo? Riiiight. Pot is good for just one thing. Gettin’ high. And I note that the hippies are blaming Obama for this now, which would mean that he will lose the stoner vote- if stoners could turn off Scooby Do long enough to vote, that is.
The US government has had a federal medical cannabis program in place for decades… so why the hell would they be doing that if they think it has no medical value?
The reason people believe cannabis is just for getting high is because since the 70’s people began breeding strains to contain more and more THC (the psychoactive component) which nearly removed all existence of cannabidiol (one of the medicinal components) or CBD for short. Many people in the medical cannabis industry have been in a search for these rare CBD rich strains, and are attempting to cross them with other strains to get different medicinal qualities. Even with this information being know the US government for some reason will not do any more research.
No matter what happens, patients like me and the many other seriously ill people who chose to to medicate with cannabis know the truth, NO ONE can tell us it has no medical value when we see the results ourselves every extra day we are given thanks to a plant that contains some of the least toxic chemicals known to man with NOT ONE harmful/lethal side effect.
Alcohol and cigarettes cause illness and death each day, when cannabis has yet to claim a single life…please stop spreading ignorance…

Zen, you are not a patient. You are an addict. There is nothing that exists in marijuana that cannot be synthesized, but no one wants to synthesize anything that has zero medicinal purpose.
I love it how you libs love to embrace science when you think it serves your purpose, such as global warming, but then want to lynch scientists that prove your drug of choice only serves to get stoners like you high.
And contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of marijuana deaths including lung cancer, suicide, and murder at the hands of drug addled psychos.
I work at a medical marijuana collective and I would love the government to come to my collective and tell my cancer patients, veterans, aids/HIV patients, Cronic pain patients and any and all of my other patients that medical marijuana has no medical relief or benefit! Let’s just say it wouldn’t go over very well. On a daily basis I see what medical marijuana can do for you and how it works for you to have part if not most of your life back. From inhalation to ingestion, to topical oils patients have put on radiation scars and seen a huge difference. I am very sadened that people are still so closed minded in this day and age. Not all illnesses and aliments are physical and somethings you can see is wrong with a person, but do you deny them prescriptions pushed by drug reps and pharmacys and doctors for there kick backs??? No, but non profit medical marijuana is the greater evil…. SMH!
I hope if the time comes and you need the relief medical marijuana provides, that you give it a try before you discredit its medical properties.
Yup I guess I’m addicted to a better quality of life and relief of the pain caused by a peripheral neuorpathy, as well as anxiety that can sometimes be debilitating…you really shouldn’t judge someone you know nothing about.
This statement from the federal government saying it has “No medical quality”…did you even bother to do any research to find if they had a proper foundation for this claim? If you did, you would learn that our government has NO INTEREST IN ACTUALLY STUDYING IT! Further more, the studies they did produce decades ago were ridiculous unscientific, for example they put masks on test monkeys that forced them to constantly inhale pure cannabis smoke, never being allowed to breath in between for oxygen…this is the study they used to make the claim “Marijuana kills brain cells” when it was simply due to a severe lack of oxygen that an actual cannabis smoker would never be submitted to.
Many tests have proven the sub molecules that Pfizer and other companies have attempted to patent and synthesize, were extremely ineffective on their own. As well numerous studies have show that it has its most medicinal qualities when in its natural state combined with around 80 other cannabinoids. Sorry to not live up to your expectations of not using real science…
I would love to see where you read that people have died from lung cancer via cannabis because this is blatantly false. You cannot call suicide or murder “death by cannabis, if you want to make that argument your precious alcohol should no longer be legal… oh wait we tried that BIG FUCKING MISTAKE, just like cannabis prohibition. Not to mention plenty of people commit suicide and murder while 100% sober, your argument has mo merit I’m sorry.
There are no medical properties of marijuana so there is no need for me to “be open minded and try it” as you and your commie friends like to argue. (Yes I called you a commie. No coincidence you work in a ‘collective’) Your patients use pot because they like to get high. Period.
And you’d like the see the feds come in and try to take it away from a bunch of hippies, gays and cancer victims? Doesn’t really sound like much of a challenge.
