If Blade Runner Had a Semi-Modern Computer

My wife thinks Blade Runner is a horrible movie with no redeeming qualities. She is a bit younger than I am and I can certainly understand why she wouldn’t appreciate the sci-fi breakthroughs in story telling. Maybe at the point when Decker booted a personal computer, if it had shown a semi-modern OS, would that have helped? I somehow don’t think so.
