WWF Creates Ad Showing September 11 Attacks

WTF WWF? The World Wildlife Federation has an ad showing dozens of jet liners screaming toward New York City on 9/11. And for some reason the text of the ad says “The tsunami killed 100 times more people than 9/11. The planet is brutally powerful. Respect it. Preserve it.”

The WWF, which actually does some fairly decent work to preserve endangered habitats around the world, is suing the ad maker because they didn’t approve of the ad’s release. But it certainly is not farfetched that the extremists in WWF would stoop to something like this. PETA does this sort of stupid imagery all the time.

From HotAir here:

Wow! Sounds like the Earth is the real terrorist. I propose choking it to death with carbon dioxide! If we implement cap-and-trade, the really brutal terrorist wins.

So what if this ad was a comparison between the Germans and the Tsunami in World War 2? The slogan would be “Germans slaughtered twenty times more jews in concentration camps than were killed by the Tsunami. Respect it. Preserve it.” So what is the point of the ad? Might makes right?

UPDATE: Maybe the point is who has the biggest lawyer? Somehow WWF won the rights to the acronym from the old World Wrestling Federation. Trench reminds us with this image:

Dr. Jones

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.
