Kundra Back at Work

Obama said Vivek Kundra could come back to work since he didn’t go to jail following an investigation by the FBI into a bribery scandal at Kundra’s old office, of which he was the boss. And while the investigation was underway, it came out that Kundra was convicted of theft as a youngster in Maryland.

Caught in Bribery Scandal

How is it that someone convicted of larceny is elevated to a position of CIO for all of the Federal Agencies?  This guy doesn’t sound like he could get a clearance, but then again, Obama snorted coke and smoked pot, so if he can get a clearance, then anyone can.

From the AP here:

A federal judge Tuesday ordered a former District of Columbia employee facing corruption charges to remain jailed in a case that prompted his former boss to take a brief leave of absence as President Barack Obama’s computer chief.

Yusuf Acar, who was the acting chief security officer in D.C.’s technology office, is accused of defrauding the city through a sophisticated bribery and fraud scheme.

The allegations include billing the city for items that were never delivered and “ghost” contract employees who didn’t work. Acar approved falsified bills and split the money with vendors who submitted them.

Acar’s boss, Vivek Kundra, was recently appointed to the White House post of chief federal information officer. Kundra was put on leave Thursday and was reinstated by the White House on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has said Kundra was not suspected of any wrongdoing in the case. According to court records, Kundra once pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft in Maryland in 1996 when he was 21 years old. The White House called the theft a “youthful indiscretion.”

Also, Kundra is a clueless manager that allowed a multi-million dollar embzzlement racket to operate right under his nose.  Such cluelessness doesn’t bode well for the federal bureaucracy in which the scale of the operation will be multiplied by a factor of a thousand.  Billions are likely to be wasted due to mismanagement of the national IT infrastructure.  Somehow I don’t think Kundra is completely in the clear as yet.

And Obama continues to staff one of the most corrupt administrations ever.
