Reason 142 to Homeschool: Obama Teachers Won’t Bully Kids Who Support McCain

Wow, this post has gotten quite a bit of Attention. Thanks also goes to Moonbattery, Riehl World View, Neptunus Lex, American Power, Lone Star Times, Sister Toldjah, PoliGazette, Stop The ACLU, Libertarian Paleo-Conservative, and Gateway Pundit for the links and traffic! I even see some referral traffic from the Freepers and the Lizardoids.

This is a video of Diantha Harris, a lifelong democrat and avid Barack Obama supporter. She is also a lousy schoolteacher, as is evidenced by the mushmouthed kids in her class. And instead of concentrating on grammar and English, math and science, she abuses and ridicules any child who dares to speak up in support of John McCain. This video is part of a Finnish documentary on Obama fans, and it is shocking that you have to go to a foreign country to learn what goes on in our own classrooms.

See how she singles out the little white girl and mocks her for having an absent parent, who is off defending the country, and lies to her, saying her Dad would have to stay in Iraq for a hundred years? The little girl was ready to cry! Disgusting.

Diantha Harris: It’s a senseless war! [Stares at Kathy.] And by the way, Kathy, the person that you’re picking for president said [Harris shakes her head] that our troops could stay in Iraq for another hundred years if they need to! [Kathy bites her lip, looks ashamed. Other kids stare at Kathy, laugh, smirk.] So that means that your daddy could stay in the military for another hundred years!

[Kathy is on verge of tears.]

[In an interview later:]

Diantha Harris: Now I can support whomever I want to support, as long as I don’t browbeat another person for the candidate that they supported. Like I have some students that support John McCain, and when they told me that, I said ah … “that’s good’ and I just moved on. So, I think that everybody is entitled to their own personal opinion.

You know, the schools are banning kickball, dodgeball and tag on the playgrounds because they are afraid of bullies. Seems to me the bullies are the ones with the chalkboard erasers. Lots of thanks to Akira here for the video and the transcript.

Ken at TundraTabloid broke this story here.

UPDATE!

The school superintendent has launched an investigation. Here is what he wrote on the school website here about Diantha Harris’ classroom conduct.

I was shocked when I saw the clip of an interaction between a Cumberland County Schools teacher and her students as posted on YouTube. While neutral discussion of the political process is appropriate, at no time, particularly with elementary students, should a teacher infuse his/her political views into the discussion. Most disconcerting was the military slant that made its way into this discussion. We are a military community, serving over 15,000 military students and their families. We value the sacrifices, not only of the military parents but also those of their families.

We believe that military children are our children, military spouses are many of our employees, and military service men and women are our heroes. We proudly serve our military children and have received national awards for our support of military families.

I was particularly disturbed to see the uncomfortable position in which our children were placed due to the inappropriate actions of one of our teachers. Please be assured that the actions exhibited in this video are not consistent with the vision of the CCS. Moreover, the actions of one teacher do not represent the 7000 employees in our organization.

Once the video was brought to my attention, I immediately launched an investigation. Personnel laws prevent me from releasing information regarding individual employees and personnel action taken. I can assure you that upon completion of the investigation, I will take appropriate action.

  1. She should be fired but the only way that that action will ever happen is when the community gets involved. The good teachers need our help.

How many of us go to School Board meetings or volunteer at schools? I haven’t, but I will start now. We pay the bills via school taxes and need to be involved. The school need “Real World” input and our support. Let’s get involved today!!!

Also the “fat cow” comments don’t help your arguments.

  2. I CAN ONLY PRAY THAT THIS WOMAN IS FIRED,PUBLICALLY HUMILIATED LIKE SHE DID THIS POOR CHILD, AND THEN LEFT TO CONTEND WITH THE CHILDS FATHER WHEN HE RETURNS. GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN!!!!

  3. “We the people” need to wake up and realize what is going on not only in our schools but in our country. This is merely a sad example of the indoctrination that is taking place in our society. It’s not only happening in schools. It’s happening in churches, community meetings, and even in the work place. It’s dispicable! This is how EVERY SINGLE socialist, facist and communist government begins. It’s like the frog in the pot of water. They think if they heat it up slowly we won’t notice that eventually we’ve been cooked!

  4. that so called teacher is so wrong, how does she know or anyone that obama will keep his word just because his black OMG how ignorant is that. I didnt vote for either one this country needs real change not no democrat or republican. NEW CHANGE WITH GOD IN OUR LIFES AGAIN. obama or mccain wasnt going for that at all. if we as a country dont get smart adn put GOD back in our lifes we will not have a country PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I am embarrassed to be associated with this American. This “teacher” – and I use the word very loosely – should be made to speak, write and broadcast an apology throughout her community. How many others just like her are out there? Probably was taught to “teach” by someone using the same tactics. No wonder our kids are in such sad shape.

  6. Dear Dr. William Harrison
    CCS’ Superintendent,

if you read this i work with children from pr-k to 12th grade and i am in class everyday with these kids and weare taught to respect everyones culture and maybe this teachers needs to go back to school and learn these things i feel that she should be fired for her actions but i dont think that will make her change maybe going back to school will help her i have workeed with these kids for 8 years and i am now going back to schol for my associates degree in early childhood education we are suposed to teach our children respect and this teacher did not respect her students

  7. I feel this teacher needs to be sent to school herself to be taught to show respect for her country and those that serve the country for her sake, although at her age I do not think it would do any good. We are all subject to being set in our ways as we get older but to intemidate a kid that way for the sake of your own opinion is wrong. She does not need to be teaching anymore, time to put her behind a desk filing papers. What really frustrates me about people with these opinions regarding the war is that they have no idea what kind of information our president has access to. He knows things we will never know because we are not meant to know, it’s called National Security. I am sure no matter who our president is he or she will do all that’s required of them to keep our country safe. We as the citizens of the United States must stand behind those decisions and support our country. There are so many people out there who take for granted our freedoms and do not appreciate what they have. We were attacked on 911 and we are fighting back to keep our country free from war here on our home ground. I have family that serve proudly and having teachers at home teaching students the “WRONG MESSAGE” is so wrong ….. she should ask God for forgiveness and guidance.
