Loading ...John Edwards confessed to hiring a no-talent hack to film his campaign trips for over $114,000 and then reaming her out like a prostitute at every campaign stop while his wife was at home with the kids rotting from the inside out with incurable cancer. He lied during the Presidential campaign about the affair, but he is definitely not lying now when he says he is not the whore’s father. I think we need to call Maury.

Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her. Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter’s baby girl, Frances Quinn, but he has not taken a paternity test.
Edwards met Rielle Hunter at a New York city bar in 2006. His political action committee later paid her $114,000 to produce campaign website documentaries despite her lack of experience. Edwards said the affair began during the campaign after she was hired. Hunter traveled with Edwards around the country and to Africa.
Edwards said he told his wife, Elizabeth, and others in his family about the affair in 2006. Edwards made a point of telling Woodruff that his wife’s cancer was in remission when he began the affair with Hunter. Elizabeth Edwards has since been diagnosed with an incurable form of the disease.
Edwards today admitted the National Enquirer was correct when it reported he had visited Hunter at the Beverly Hills Hilton last month. His wife had not known about the meeting.
Since becoming pregnant, Hunter has lived under assumed names in a series of expensive homes in North Carolina and, more recently, in Santa Barbara, Calif. Edwards denied paying any money to Hunter to keep her from going public.

After John Edwards admitted to the affair, what seems to be obvious to me as I read between the lines are a few things. Since the the headlines would have read that Edwards cheated on his cancer stricken, dying wife, Edwards said she was in remission. If this is true he couldn’t, due to timing, be the father. LIE # 1
Since he is lying about being the father he had to conceal his lie by agreeing to a paternaty test, all the while knowing that one would not be performed if Ms. Hunter refused. How to get her to refuse?
Give her money. Where to get the money without breaking laws? Have someone else put up the money. The first payment 114,000 could be camaflauged as a service Ms. Hunter was performing as videographer.
The campaign money could be used for this. This would give a reason for Ms. Hunter to be globe trotting to Africa and elsewhere with John Edwards. I guess he was thinking that this was a ingenius plan. Keep his mistress with him for months, take her on exotic trips and have the contributors pay for it. The problem with this plan is, now that he admitted that she was his mistress, he will have to answer the questions, Why did you pay her? What is her experience as film maker?
What did you use the film for? Where did the money come from?
Being an observer of human nature I can say with all certainty that the rest of the story will be revealed. No woman will be satified with whatever amount of money Edwards gave her to “go along”. She will ask for more when the tabloids will be offering her millions for her story. Millions of dollars is hard to turn down. Can Edwards match their offer? Remember that the child is entitled to child support until the age of majority and is entitled to an equal share of his estate as an heir. You can bet she will get lawyered up to protect her and her childs monetary interest in his and his wifes estate.
Campaign Laws will be questioned. The GOP will insist, in the interest of fair play, that it be proven that Ms. Hunters payments and other payments to other parties didn’t come from contributors.
They will have to follow the money. Investigatgions will ensue.
Edwards being a lawyer, would make me assume that he can’t be so stupid to pay off the players with campaign money or his own money.
As you can remember he state that he was unaware of any money being paid by anyone. LIE #2
I guess it will be discovered that a wealthy supporter paid the money to keep the scandal from breaking and to keep the campaign on tract.
This supporter will be asked to testify under oath about source of the funds and his motivation to paying it. With Edwards political career over, his supporter will have no interest in facing jail time to protect a “never will be.”

Great analysis. You know, you broght something Up I haven’t seen anywhere else, and that is the possibility that Hunter will be offered loads of cash for her story.
Oddly, Hunter is refusing a paternity test, and I thought at first that it was to continue to protect Edwards. Now I think she is holding out for a huge payment from a tabloid.
If Ms. Hunter plays her cards right she will make out like a Heather McCartney. She can get all the hush money from Edwards and/or his supporters until that runs dry. Then she can sell the story as she breaks the news that Edwards is the father for millions of bucks. Then she can sue him for Child support, emotional distress, broken promises that she depended on to put her career off.

The media has done everything they could to help Obama get to where he is right now, including staying quiet about Edwards. Thanks for pointing that out.
Hillary will go for the nomination by trying to poach those Edwards delegates and the superdelegates that were pro Hillary with this injustice as justification.
