This Is How Darwinism Works

The weak and the stupid must be weeded out of the genepool to prevent the spread of idiocy. This was the only photo I could find online of Daniel Ferraro, a dead 19-year-old who was home from College visiting his folks for the holidays. He got a brilliant idea to detonate explosives inside his old playground set. He didn’t survive to see it uploaded to Youtube. According to FARK, his last words were, “Hey you guys, watch this!”

From the Journal-news here:

A Miami University student was killed Wednesday in an explosion in the backyard of his parent’s home.

Police said a group of teenagers were trying to blow up a two-story, wooden playground set when debris from the explosion hit Daniel Ferraro, 19.

Police would not say what kind of explosives were used, but neighbors said the explosion rocked their homes.

Neighbors and friends said Ferraro, the son of Anthony and Katherine Ferraro, was a Eagle Scout and a former member of Boy Scout Troop 974.

ATF agents, the State Fire Marshal’s office and the Butler County Sheriff’s Bomb Unit were all on the scene assisting in the investigation.

Is blowing up stuff in the back yard funny? Well, this made me laugh.

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.

first off, the picture you posted is NOT of daniel ferraro. maybe instead of trying to make your story more funny, you should be honest. there are PLENTY of photos of him online. instead you chose to post a picture of some 11-year-old kid (again, NOT daniel) picking his nose. real necessary.
secondly, no one has said that his last words were “hey you guys, watch this.” daniel was not even the one that set the bomb off. FARK is not the best source to get your information from.
and finally, what happened was a mistake…and it has a lot of people mourning. daniel was a friend to everyone and always had a smile on his face. he was the sweetest, most genuine guy you could ever meet. in the midst of such a tragedy, posts such as this one are completely inhumane. daniel was not “weak” or “stupid.” he was enrolled in the ROTC and was studying psychology at miami university of ohio. smart kid, hard worker, terrible accident.
laughter at the cost of such a young life is completely disgusting. you should be ashamed.

and you should probably remove this post.
    thank you.

  • Kristen,

Send me the url to an accurate photo and I will update the picture.

And let me explain some differences in definitions to you. A mistake is when someone does something by accident. Are you saying that Daniel wasn’t playing with explosive materials? That this was more likely murder than a stunt gone wrong?

Further, I don’t care if he was a candidate for the Nobel Prize. Blowing yourself to Kingdom Come in your backyard playing with explosives is a stupid thing to do.

  • And Kristen,
His parents should be the ones that are ashamed. They knew that Daniel always toyed with illegal explosives according to this article here:
    http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20080104/NEWS01/301040068/

Yet they did nothing to stop him.

Daniel made a home-made pipe bomb that damaged two homes and killed him to boot. And he wanted to be out in the open and film it for Youtube rather than seek protection from his blast. That was stupid.

And the Eagle Scouts of the area should have their chapter revoked too. What a bunch of douchebags, especially Bob Wylly who said that this was an experiment because Dan wanted to pursue explosives in the military. Last I checked, manufacturing pipe bombs pretty much violates every aspect of the scouting oath.
