Asians Just Never Give Up
If you failed your drivers license test 100 times, I would bet that you would give up and just ride a taxi or smash your bicycle with the streamers on the handlebars into pedestrians on your way to work. Not so with Cha Sa-Soon, 69 year old driving master from the Republic of South Korea! After 959 tries, she went back for the magical 960 and nailed it, earning her drivers license. Lord hear my prayers, and keep her out of any minivans in Northern Virginia. Too much competition here already!
From the AP here:
A South Korean woman who earned a driver’s license after 960 tries is ready to buy a car and get behind the wheel.
69-year-old Cha Sa-soon passed the driving part of the test last month on her 10th try. South Korea requires a written test first, and Cha took it nearly daily since April 2005 before passing last year.
She said she wanted to buy a small secondhand car to visit her son and daughter and for her business selling vegetables.
I wonder if she knew all of the staffers in the testing facility by name?
