We weren’t in the mood for fast food on our trip to Williamsburg so we stopped at what looked to be a local dive in Ashland Virginia called the Smokey Pig.

Upon being seated you are given a large bowl of hot crispy hush puppies and butter. I had a large pulled pork sandwich with a spicy Carolina BBQ sauce and my mouth is still watering thinking about it as I write this.

Jess had a quarter of a smoked BBQ chicken with a crispy skin and tasty pink meat that fell off the bones. Cartney ate onion rings and fries and those were yummy too.

So next time you are in the Richmond area take some time to stop in and have some awesome Virginia BBQ!
