How on earth did a bunch of people get together and elect a terrorist-associating socialist as President? I think a lot of it was white guilt. Americans want to show the world that the pains of slavery are well over and wanted to elect a black man to prove it. At least, that’s what Ralph Nader thinks.

Michelle is quick to point out on her blog that this election means that no one should call Americans racists again.  They will, of course, because liberals always fall back to name calling when their other arguments and logic fails.  She said:

In the end, a majority of Americans voted for Obama because they decided the gamble on an inexperienced change salesman was worth it – whatever his skin color and however thin that skin is.

Moonbattery’s Van Helsing says that Obama won the election because the Democrats got rid of all of their moderates and ran the most liberal member of the party.  Republicans need to dump big government moderates like Bush and especially McCain if they hope to retake the White House.  VH says:

When Dems lost in 2000 and 2004, they reacted by moving sharply to the left, and purging their ranks of relative moderates. In 2008, they ran a radical with the most extreme left-wing voting record in the entire Senate against a centrist known for shafting conservatives. You see the results.

If conservatives learn a lesson and take back the Republican Party from country club Big Government types like W and McAmnesty, there will be a resurgence of Reaganesque proportions in 2012, and very possibly a replay of 1994 in 2010.

And VH nailed it.  I think this election would have been much worse had it not been for Sarah Palin, the most conservative voice in this election.  In fact, I had planned on sitting out this election until Sarah got involved.  I voted in the hopes that McCain, old as he is, wouldn’t survive the term.  Essentially, I was voting for the Veep, not the Pres.  And I’m sure I wasn’t alone in this attitude.

And McCain was too old, despite his clarity of mind, to be a President.  No one should vote for a guy if you wonder if he will survive his term. The same thing happened when Bob Dole ran against Bill Clinton in 1996.  Bob Dole was a great guy and might have made a good President, but when faced with the choice, the country chose the Horn Dog in Chief to hang out and molest his interns for four more years.

And finally, McCain lost because of his horrible comb-over.  I have said it before that the country doesn’t like to elect bald people.  The US may no longer be racist, but we are still a bunch of narcissists when it comes to our nation’s public image.

Looking ahead, I fully expect this nation to party like its 1978 with rising inflation, out of control fuel prices, massive unemployment and an international reputation of being a pushover.
