Reason 111 to Homeschool- No Frenching the Teacher

The latest reason to homeschool?  The 2002 Teacher of the Year, who teaches French, won’t do the Ooo-la-la with your high school son.  Meet Janelle Batkins, married teacher and mother of two.  She was busted when her 17 year-old paramour told her “I’m just not that into you, and by the way, I’m calling the cops.”

Ce professeur a eu le sexe avec son étudiant.

The kid was of the age of consent, but the teacher is facing felony charges because she was in a “position of trust” and a dirty whore.

From the Freep here:

A former Roseville High School teacher — and 2002 district teacher of the year — was arraigned Monday on criminal sexual conduct charges after being accused of having sex with her teenage student aide last school year.

Janelle Batkins, 42, of Harrison Township was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a 15-year felony. She was released on a $25,000 personal bond.  She had sexual contact with the 17-year-old from December 2006 until the end of the last school year.

Batkins, a married mother of two who taught French for about 15 years in the district, resigned over the summer.  Batkins stood mute before Judge Sebastian Lucido with her hands in cuffs. Her mother and husband were the courtroom.

The 17-year-old’s mother went to Roseville police in July after finding evidence of a relationship on her son’s computer. Her son told detectives he consented to sex with Batkins in Batkins’ home and a car.

A 17-year-old can give legal consent in most cases, but charges were brought because Batkins was in a position of authority over the student.

Her family must be so proud.  Do they have an award for teacher slut of the year?  Maybe she can add that trophy to her mantle right next to that teacher of the year award.

Let’s just remember – she hasn’t been convicted yet. Innocent until proven guilty. I had her for French for two years and she was the best teacher I ever had. She was a great teacher and very inspiring.

  • Cassidhe,

Welcome to the blog. I wouldn’t have blogged about this except there was ample evidence found on a computer and the kid told police about it. So, she’s guilty- we are just waiting on the court to do its thing.

Regarding innocent until proven guilty, that is in a court of law. This is a blog. There’s a big difference.

  • Throw the kid and the teacher in jail, both sides shouldnt get off the hook

  • Oh well if your evidence was found on the COMPUTER, ….

Do you even know how to research? What were all those degrees you claim to hold? You still haven’t mentioned them…
