Who Let the Pale Out?

Byron Sonne was finally released on bond after nearly a year in jail for buying TATP explosives via the internet just to stir up trouble during the run-up to the G20 in Canada. Since he has been jailed, he has lost his home, his wife, his part time jobs, and his certification as a CISSP. Oh, and he also lost his tan and some more hair.

From TheStar here:

The 38-year-old Internet security expert accused of possessing homemade explosives in the lead-up to last summer’s G20 summit was freed on bail Wednesday after spending 330 days behind bars. While he is now free from jail, Sonne is returning to a completely altered life.

His wife left him, formally ending their 15-year relationship three months into his detention. Kristen Peterson — who was arrested two days after her husband last June but has since had all her charges dropped — has cut all ties to Sonne and his family.

While on bail, Sonne must reside with his parents, who posted the $250,000 bond and agreed to act as sureties. Police will be allowed search the Sonnes’ Brampton residence on a weekly basis, without a warrant.

Sonne is barred from using computers or accessing the Internet, except for employment purposes.

My predictions still stand. He will be convicted for acquiring TATP explosives, but be sentenced to time served.
