The WaPo runs with a story about a Virginia professor who objected to a history book which contained factual information that blacks served as Confederate soldiers in the CSA.

From the WaPo here:

The issues first came to light after College of William & Mary historian Carol Sheriff opened her daughter’s copy of “Our Virginia” and saw the reference to black Confederate soldiers.

“It’s disconcerting that the next generation is being taught history based on an unfounded claim instead of accepted scholarship,” Sheriff said. “It concerns me not just as a professional historian but as a parent.”

It is not an unfounded claim. Blacks fought alongside whites against the north for a variety of reasons. Some were going to be granted their freedom. Some were enraged at the invasion of Northern troops. The South was the home to many black families. And pictures don’t lie.

Liberals can’t wrap their minds around blacks defending their homes as slaves in the South. They can try to erase it from history all they like, but they are going to have to remove grave stones to do it.
