Vacation Blogging

Everyone can kiss my McNuggets, I’m on vacation.  My new job has been occupying way too much of my daily life and a week off is just what I needed so I took the family down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a week of sun, surf and shopping.

One cool thing about the Outerbanks is that the region went completely wireless for the public.  It costs about 50 bucks for a week of Internet access, but for many of the rental properties, you get a code to access the public wifi for free.  A really sweet deal if you can get it.  My rental company didn’t offer that package.  The house was supposed to come with Cox Cable internet, but I guess the owners let the high speed internet package lapse and they just have basic cable.  **grumble**

They have a Life is Good store here.  I love their gear and have several items, including one of my favorite t-shirts, which is a happy guy grilling food over a weber grill.  But there is also a Wings store that specializes in faux Life is Good gear, called Life is Crap.  It has the same types of cartoon images, but instead of happy dudes walking dogs or throwing a frisbee, the gear depicts unhappy people having a miserable time, such as exploding barbecues, chipping from the tall grass, and my new favorite t-shirt “Out of Beer-  Life is Crap.”

Posting will likely be slow this week as I bake in the sun, so please check out my archives.  I will post pictures when I can.

  • DH has that shirt, too! His fabulous wife picked it out for him. Enjoy the vacation. Outer Banks is a great place. Not that you need to know – but the Holiday Inn there – right on the beach – reserves the entire bottom floor for people with pets – or it used to anyway, when we vacationed there three years in a row ’98, ’99 and 2000. Oh – and HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARTNEY!
