Can’t Smoke in Peace

I have mentioned before that I used to smoke.  Im a happy non-smoker now, but I’m not one of those types who campaign to get others to quit smoking.  It really doesn’t bother me except for when I get home after hanging out with friends in a smoky pub and I smell it on my clothes.

But I remember fondly hanging out with my fellow smokers at work or college in the Smoker’s area or lounge.  Imagine if they did this to your smoker’s lounge.

Can’t people just let you smoke in peace?  They already have smokers crammed in small spaces or dumped outside in the cold weather.  Now they have to put up with preachy art?  Okay, maybe this is kinda cool.

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.

  • It’s kinda cool. I think that room should be changed into the family room where parents change their babies’ diapers. THAT would be funny.

  • :-O
No, that wouldn’t be cool. I think its traumatizing enough for me to have to use a public changing station with my own little one. I don’t see how freaking out the baby could possibly help matters much. And the same could be said if it were Blues Clues dudes on the ceiling!

  • My points:

    1. It would seem arbitrary to do this.
    2. A lot of people might chuckle about the joke that kids send you to an early grave.
    3. A lot of other people would be just as offended as smokers have to be over this, if not more so.
    4. People who don’t smoke or think badly of smokers might open their eyes to the jerkiness.

I’m not a smoker, but I think this is kinda horribly wrong.

  • Sadly, no one feels guilty about making smokers suffer. And smokers are so used to the persecution I don’t think they would speak up for themselves.

  • At least these guys are able to smoke inside.
