I can't believe that came from your mouth!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Speaks
There are a few things I’ve read in my life that I am very proud of, partly because they were a little bit of a chore to get through, and also because it was personally enriching to have read them. I have read the Bible cover to cover a couple of times. I have read Neil Stephenson’s great Trilogy the Baroque Cycle. And I have read every story featuring Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Doyle was certainly a conflicted man. From his mind sprang one of the great scientific and logical methods of the time- deductive reasoning- yet the man was absolutely convinced of the existence of fairies, ghosts, and psychic powers. Such things are easily observed to be frauds, and simple deductive reasoning can easily disprove their existence.
