War in Iraq has Been Won

The goal of the war in Iraq was regime change so Saddam would no longer pose a destabilizing threat to the region. That goal has been reached. A new government, democratically elected and representative of the Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis, is now in power over the country of Iraq.

Soon the government will take much more control of the security of its own nation and our boys will be able to come home. As Victors.

Despite the best efforts of the left to derail the war, the United States was victorious to bring much needed change to that region of the world.

From the AP here:

BAGHDAD, Iraq Iraq’s parliament approved a national unity government Saturday.

In a show of hands, the 275-member parliament approved each of the 39 Cabinet ministers proposed by incoming Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. The new Shiite Muslim, Sunni Arab and Kurdish ministers then took their oaths of office during the nationally televised session in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone.

The installation completed a democratic process that began after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s regime in the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.

In his first address, al-Maliki told parliament he would make restoring stability and security the top priority of his new administration. He said he would “work fast” to improve and coordinate Iraqi security forces so they can reduce attacks by insurgent groups and militias.

Dr. Jones-Saddam Hussein was evil but did you support Iraq War because you’re pro-Israel ? Both Democrats & Republicans pro-Israel. I’m not Republican and I’m not Democrat. I opposed the 2003 Iraq War as we went to Iraq because Jewish groups wanted us there.
