MOTY: Children’s Book Author Starves and Beats Children

Meet Jennifer Wolfthal. This Florida lady used to teach 4th graders before she “quit” to focus on homeschooling her children. When she wasn’t abusing her three children, she also pumped out a children’s picture book about two friends who fight each other.

From the Sentinel here:

A Casselberry children’s book author was recently arrested after three children were found with injuries as well as signs of malnutrition.

Jennifer Wolfthal, who recently published a children’s book about friendship, was arrested on New Year’s Day after one of the children was brought to the hospital for injuries that her husband said were from accidents, but investigators determined that was not possible.

The child had bruises and severe cuts, and was soon determined to be “critically ill” and transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

..investigators interviewed Wolfthal’s husband, who said they brought the child to the hospital after the girl presented injuries and illness for days. The Sheriff’s Office … noted Wolfthal’s actions caused “bruises, lacerations, swelling, bleeding and skin infections.”

The husband initially said the girl was first injured by brushing her teeth “too hard,” causing her mouth to bleed five days before they took her to the hospital.

The next day, he said he noticed she had facial swelling and later said she was “wobbly,” mentioning he thought she might be experiencing vertigo. He said his wife told him the girl had fallen three times, once hitting her face on the toilet and later hitting her head on the side of a wooden desk.

The Husband Joe was a real man’s man too. He allowed this woman to push him around and beat on him. The story continues…

The husband said Wolfthal is the sole caregiver for the children, and “conducts all of the discipline,” the report said. He said he recently tried to intervene, but Wolfthal “punched in him the chest and knocked him to the ground.” He said on other occasions, she has “locked him in the laundry room as a ‘time out.’” Her husband said he is “fearful of” Wolfthal.

Wolfthal, 41, was arrested on charges child abuse, child neglect with great bodily harm and domestic violence battery. After her arrest at her Casselberry home, detectives said there was a “strong smell of ammonia” in the house, and one noticed the rooms had been cleaned up.

Ammonia?! Did this mother of the year clean up some blood? Or did Wolfthal take a lesson from the child abuse novel A Child Called It and was mixing bleach with ammonia to poison the child? Guess we will wait to see what additional evidence comes out in court.

Also, Wolfthal deleted her blog. You can see her book about kids fighting each other here.
