Tow Truck Drivers are Scumbags

As I have said before, tow truck drivers can be real heroes when helping out stranded motorists. Quite a few have helped me out over the years. But they can also be predatory scumbags with no scruples, who are essentially licensed by the state to steal cars and hold them for ransom. This post is not about the tow truck drivers who are heroes.

Imagine the horror of having your two-year-old kidnapped by a scumbag tow truck driver.  It happened here in Virginia.  From Fox5 here:

Two Fredericksburg-area tow truck employees have been charged with felonies after towing a vehicle with a small child inside.

Police said 25-year-old Jason Bryant of Spotsylvania and 21-year-old Derek Miller of Stafford were charged with child endangerment.

The Patriot Towing employees didn’t realize the mistake until getting back to the business shortly after with the car. The 2-year-old girl was unharmed and was returned to her mother.

Police said the men were on the lookout for improperly parked vehicles at a housing complex and saw the woman’s car double parked Sunday.

The mother told police she ran into the home to talk to some people and left the car running and unlocked with the girl in a car seat. When she returned five minutes later, the car was gone.

Predatory bastards.  How terrified must that child have been?  I’m surprised the assholes returned the kid without making the mom pay a “storage fee.”  And notice the story says they returned the kid, but not the car?

GREEN campaigners Eco-religionists called police after discovering an illegal logging site in a nature reserve – only to find the culprits were a gang of beavers.

Environmentalists found 20 neatly stacked tree trunks and others marked with notches for felling at a beauty-spot in Subkowy, northern Poland.

But when officers followed a trail left by a tree which had been dragged away, they found a beaver dam right across the river.

A police spokesman said: “The campaigners hippies are feeling pretty stupid. There’s nothing more natural than a beaver.”

Apparently beavers are targeted for extermination quite often because of their destructive appetite for trees.  Even in hippy-dippy California, they would rather kill a beaver to save a tree than to let them terraform the environment.

Gay people are still outraged that Californians exercised their right to vote and banned gay marriage. So they want to go on strike, and are calling their one day strike “A Day without a Gay.” Yep, sounds pretty gay to me. Evidently tomorrow all of the gays are supposed to “call in gay” and stay home from work. Seeing as how that’s a good way to get fired in these bad economic times, this ranks up there with some of the all-time dumb ideas. What if employers turned this around and sent gays home with no pay? Or those suspected of being gay? Then it goes from a protest to discrimination, even though its still a “Day without a Gay?” One moonbat teacher at a moonbat school in Philadelphia wants to lead a walkout of teachers so they can figure out how to make 10 year olds gay too.

Some same-sex marriage supporters are urging people to “call in gay” Wednesday to show how much the country relies on gays and lesbians, but others question whether it’s wise to encourage skipping work given the nation’s economic distress.

Sean Hetherington, a West Hollywood comedian and personal trainer, dreamed up the idea with his boyfriend, Aaron Hartzler, after reading online that a few angry gay-rights activists were calling for a daylong strike to protest California voters’ passage last month of Proposition 8, which reversed this year’s state Supreme Court decision allowing gay marriage.

“Day Without a Gay” Web site has gotten 100,000 hits since mid-November.

Scott Craig, a fifth-grade teacher at Independence Charter School in Philadelphia, had no problem requesting and being granted the day off. So many of the school’s 60 teachers were eager to show support for gay rights they had to make sure enough stayed behind to staff classrooms.

About 25 teachers plan to take Wednesday off and to have their work covered by substitutes while they discuss ways to introduce gay issues to their students and volunteer at the local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, Craig said. A letter telling parents why so many teachers would be out went home Monday.

So if you want your teachers teaching just reading writing and arithmetic, don’t send them to this private school where they want to teach oral and anal.  And so they made a website called Day without a Gay. Why not make a new website called “Layoff a Lesbian” or “Gay without Pay?”

HotAir smells the failure.  Gays won’t walkout and Gay shopkeepers won’t close down.

Illinois Governor Frog Marched for Selling Obama’s Senate Seat

Stunning news out of Illinois. Democrat governor and friend of Barack Obama, Rod Blagojevich has been dragged out of his Chicago home for trying to sell the vacant Senate seat of Barack Obama to the highest political bidder. And to top that off, he may have been conspiring with President Elect Barack Obama to fill a cabinet position in Obama’s administration with someone who could contribute cash to Blagojevich or perhaps get him out of trouble with the federal investigation.

Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents on federal corruption charges that they and others are engaging in ongoing criminal activity: conspiring to obtain personal financial benefits for Blagojevich by leveraging his sole authority to appoint a United States Senator and to obtain campaign contributions in exchange for official actions.

Blagojevich, 51, and Harris, 46, both of Chicago, were each charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery.

A 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was heard on wiretaps during the last month conspiring to sell or trade Illinois’ U.S. Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama for financial and other personal benefits for himself and his wife.  He even wanted a cabinet post or ambassadorship for himself.

Regarding the Senate seat, Blagojevich, Harris and others have engaged in efforts to obtain personal gain, including financial gain, to benefit Blagojevich and his family through corruptly using Blagojevich’s sole authority to appoint a successor to the unexpired term of the President-elect’s former Senate seat.

If convicted, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, while solicitation of bribery carries a maximum of 10 years in prison, and each count carries a maximum fine of $250,000.

This is the type of government we can expect from Obama.  He was breastfed on Chicago politics.  How closely Obama has been conspiring with Blagojevich to fill his old Senate seat will certainly come out soon.  Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Obama enters office with an impeachment threat already hanging over his head?  Also from this story, it said that Obama could smell the stink of corruption on Blaggie:

Blagojevich agreed it was unlikely that the President-elect would name him Secretary of Health and Human Services or give him an ambassadorship because of all of the negative publicity surrounding him.

Will There Ever be a Great American Car Again?

I’m afraid that the last in a long line of great American cars is going to come to a skidding halt if the Government gets involved in the bailout of the industry. Making cars will be as painful as sitting in line at the DMV because the automakers will have to answer to the Environmental Protection Agency, Depts of Labor, Energy and Transportation- and some stupid position called the “Car Czar.” We won’t have any more cars like this-

Congress is talking like they actually know how to run a business. How’s that Social Security Trust Fund doing under their control? And don’t forget the underfunded pension plans. In fact, if our Federal and many state governments were in front of Congress as businesses looking for a bailout, no debate would be required. They’d never qualify for help and only their ability to extract dollars from people’s pockets by decree is keeping them afloat as it is. But suddenly they know something about good management? Please!

With Government oversight, I’m sure we will see the rebirth of the Vega, the Monza, the Pinto and the Pacer.

However bad the car companies are struggling now- the Government controlling things will put a dagger in its heart. Its just making my Chevy SSR more of a collector’s item.

Does Laura Bush Get the “Shocker?”

I saw this photo below on Best Week Ever’s page here, and I laughed and said to myself, “No way! This has gotta be photoshopped!”  I followed the link to Graney and the Pig’s blog here who provided a link to the official WhiteHouse.Gov website here.  The pic’s legit.  That’s the President of the United States flashing a hand gesture that many people know as the “Shocker.”

Actually, this is the “pitchfork” sign for the Arizona Sun Devils, and that is the Arizona track team photo.  Still, I cracked up.  I’m gonna miss this doofus when he leaves office.

Obama Phishers Now Targeting Classmates.Com

The Obama Phishers, discussed here and here are changing tactics again to steal your personal information.  At first they were using videos of hope and change to trick you into installing a fake flashplayer update.  Then they moved to a BankofAmerica scam.  Now they are circulating fake invitations to view a video at Classmates.Com.

The Gozi infostealer is running around, this time using new domains and a new lure: a “video invitation from your classmates”. This has been going on all week, too. In an email purporting to be from Classmates.com, you’re told to go look at a web page and join up. To view the video you need to .. you guessed it, download a new Flash player.

The reason the phishers keep using this tactic is first and foremost, because it works.  People receive an email with a link to you in a video- well, whose curiousity wouldn’t be aroused?  But this malware also works because Adobe has such crappy code!  I run two bits of their software on my PC’s-  the flash player and the acrobat reader.  Both require such frequent updates it wouldn’t surprise a user that yet another version should be downloaded to view the content.

That’s Not My DHCP Server! Phishing With TNT

This is an interesting twist on attackers infiltrating a network to harvest usernames and passwords to financial sites.  As I wrote here in March of 2007, some attackers were using Windows DNS to implant false proxies to clients.  Now some malware includes the software to turn a local PC into a DHCP server, and as such, it will try to respond to DHCP broadcasts and issue IP’s and more importantly, DNS information to the requesting host.

The poisoned DNS will of course redirect legitimate requests to bogus sites to either phish information from the users or install malware.

If you run a large enterprise, good luck finding the bogus DHCP servers on the network.  You need a protocol analyzer to pinpoint just who is responding with the bad leases.  And even if you have a protocol analyzer, you need to have it running on all of your vlans that would serve your client workstations.

Sans says here:

While not too sophisticated, the whole attack is very interesting. First, it’s about a race between the rogue DHCP server and the legitimate one. Second, once a machine has been poisoned it is impossible to detect how it actually got poisoned in the first place – you will have to analyze network traffic to see the MAC address of those DHCP Offer packets to find out where the infected machine actually is.

Right now, this type of attack is restricted to a known bad DNS server at a remote site, so you can block it.  But if this baby starts using a fast flux network- internal dns hosted on a compromised host, and distributed botnets to host the malware, phishing sites and command functions-  it would be extremely difficult to defend against.

Boy George Convicted of False Imprisonment

OJ isn’t the only celebrity badguy facing the long arm of justice today. George O’Dowd, aka Boy George, was convicted of chaining a gay man up in his London apartment while he investigated a supposed case of “computer crime” of the gay dude deleting porn from his computer.

A jury convicted pop singer Boy George Friday of falsely imprisoning a male escort.

Norwegian Audun Carlsen was restrained with handcuffs by the musician at the singer’s London apartment and O’Dowd was swinging a metal chain at him as he fled the singer’s flat after a naked photo shoot on April 28, 2007.

Boy George was found guilty of false imprisonment. He was said he didn’t mean to hurt the escort he handcuffed in his London apartment in 2007. In the end, the jury couldn’t look past photos of wounds on the escort’s body.

Boy George handcuffed Carlsen while he investigated alleged tampering with his home computer. The singer said he believed Carlsen had removed photos of himself that were taken by the singer when the two met previously.

Jurors saw photos of welts on Carlsen’s head and injuries to his arm.  He is due to be sentenced Jan. 16.

So they are putting a gay man in prison.  I guess it will be just like his regular life, but without the makeup and champagne.

Judge Dropping the Hammer on OJ

I am watching the sentencing of OJ Simpson on Fox News right now for his crimes of strong arm robbery, kidnapping, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in Las Vegas.  A few minutes ago, OJ was blubbering that he was sorry, didn’t mean to do anything wrong, and only wanted his stuff back that was stolen from him.  Oh boo hoo.

I remember the last time OJ was on trial and the jury let the murderer walk.  Blacks everywhere celebrated, even though they KNEW he was guilty.  The American criminal justice system still hasn’t fully recovered, and I don’t think an LA jury has been able to convict a celebrity of a crime since then.

Finally OJ is going to rot his ass in jail.  It looks like a minimum of 6 years in jail before he can be parolled.  Maybe I’ll be blogging about his dumbass again in 2015.

Muslims Enraged Over Tiny Terrorist Toy

The followers of the religion of perpetual outrage are ready to cut peoples’ heads off in anger over the tiny terrorist toy pictured below.  It is a jihadi bad guy that is handmade by the owner of Brickarms.com to fit into Lego playsets.  Check out his whole lineup, including cool Army guys here.

Why Muslims have nothing better to bitch about is anyone’s guess, but here is the story from Sky News, with thanks to Akira.

Islamic terrorist militant Lego-style fighting figurines has sparked outrage among Muslims.

The toy mini-figures, made by American Will Chapman, includes a masked terrorist bandit with an assault rifle, grenade launcher and belt of explosives.

Shocked by the playthings, British Muslim organisation the Ramadhan Foundation has branded the figurines “absolutely disgusting”.

Chief executive Mohammed Shafiq said the figures were “glorifying terrorism”.

He said: “I don’t think there’s any difference between someone that shouts hatred through a megaphone and someone that creates a doll that glorifies terrorists.

Notice how Muslims can’t quite seem to pick out “hatred” in a lineup?  If it wasn’t for all of the hatred Muslims have against us kaffir, and the endless bloodshed they inflict on the innocent, maybe there wouldn’t be little terrorist toys.  Rather than rattle their sabres over a toy, they should be dragging their radical members of their brutal religion out of the mosques and into the streets for public floggings after their rampage in Mumbai.

Come to think of it, those little terrorist dudes will be perfect for my Lego Custom Playset of the Taj Mahal.  What?  Too soon?  I hope the Brickarms guys get themselves some security.  Muslims get all stabby when they get pissy and start tossing around fatwas.

Why Must We Be Tortured At Airports?

High parking fees. Long waits for shuttles to the terminal. Surly baggage handlers and ridiculous fees for checked bags. Long lines for tickets and even longer lines for security screening. Smelly socks and smellier TSA agents with xray scanners and magnetic wands. All of it is torture if you are traveling by air. Now the newest torture at airports?

Open Mike Karaoke! Hooray, just what we needed to listen to while standing in those long lines or being felt up by ignorant TSA agents! From the Chron here:

Karaoke has landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, just in time for the holiday season. Now you can clear security, step up to the microphone and belt out your travel frustrations by singing.

For the first time, the Houston Airport System is adding karaoke to its menu of holiday music entertainment. The first session is this afternoon, behind security between Terminals D and E.

For the past two years, aviation officials have invited choirs and bands from local high schools and churches to perform at Bush and Hobby airports during December.  But the karaoke booths will be a new experiment.

Oh the humanity.

Reason 70 to HomeSchool: You Will Understand the Grading System

The school system in Grand Rapids, Michigan has a 51% Graduation rate as of 2007. That’s lower than Detroit, whose students often don’t graduate because they get shot and stabbed. And I guess the typewriters at the Grand Rapids school that make the report cards wore out the “F” key. Now failing students will be given an “H” instead. “F is for Fail. H is for Hurr”

When high school students in Grand Rapids Public Schools fail a class this fall, they won’t get an “F” or an “E” — they’ll get an “H.”

“An ‘H’ is a failing grade,” said district spokesman John Helmholdt. But that new failing grade comes with second chance — students who get an “H” will be able to re-take the class or the part of it they failed the next semester.

Principals discussed the plans with teachers before Thanksgiving, administrators said. The district will offer Saturday school, after school or online opportunities to retake the failed course.

Superintendent Bernard Taylor said he district didn’t want to give students a “life failure,” because of a failed class at age 14, 15 or 16 — an age at which he says most people don’t have their lives together.

Sounds to me that Bernie Taylor is having one of those “life failures” right now.  When half of the kids are flunking or dropping out, I don’t believe that coming to school on a Saturday is going to fix anything.

Usually I’m pretty tough on teachers on this blog-  but that’s because they keep raping the kids.  But in this case, the teachers are being forced to give up their weekends to help these idiot children?

A lot of people are saying that this is a good idea because it gives parents a chance to notice that their kids are failing, and offers them a last chance to get the subject mastered for a passing grade.  To those people, I ask this:  What the hell are progress reports and report cards for, if not to tell parents their kids are flunking??

New Tax Forms for 2008

The Obama administration has been busy redesigning the tax forms for the coming year, and below is a sample released from the Office of Management and Budget.

The Circled section, Wealth Reallocation, 6a through 6c states:

If you work hard to earn a decent living, bend over and see the worksheet on page 33 for instructions on how to take it up the ass.  Attach Form 8974.

Check box B if you are a drain on society looking for government handouts.
Check box C if you voted for John McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election.

Racist Carleton University Student Council Apologizes- Has Resignation Party

Remember the charity fundraiser that was banned because the disease, Cystic Fibrosis, only affected white men?  Well they have reinstated the charity fundraiser for next year, dontated cash to the charity, and issued a formal apology.  Lets just hope they don’t issue the standard non-apology of saying “I’m sorry if anyone took offense.”  They should say, “We are sorry we acted out of racist prejudices.”  And a petition demanded that student association President Brittany Smythe be impeached.


Brittany Smyth: Putting the “Duh” in Canada

The student council at an Ottawa university has reversed its controversial decision to pull out of an annual fundraiser for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Following vocal protests from students, the Carleton University Students Association voted unanimously Monday night to:

•Support next year’s cystic fibrosis fundraiser, called Shinerama.
•Donate at least $1,000 to the organization.
•Issue a formal apology.

In addition, Donnie Northrup, the student councillor who crafted the controversial motion to drop the fundraiser, claiming the disease affects “only white people, and primarily men”- resigned.

One other councillor, Sean Maguire, also resigned.

Meanwhile, a group on campus has submitted a petition signed by 1,000 students calling for the student association president, Brittany Smyth, to be impeached over the incident, which they are calling “Shinerama-gate.”

I love happy endings.  So long, Brittany.  DLTDHYAOTWO.

SonicWall Solutions Massive Epic Fail

Sans is reporting that they are receiving loads of complaints that SonicWall’s integrated solutions-  Email Security Gateway, Firewalls, Content Filters, Intrusion Prevention and Antivirus- have all stopped working for all of their customers all at once.

This is apparently due to a crash in SonicWall’s lincense manager server.  Apparently, all of Sonicwall’s products check in with this server to verify that the system is allowed to run prior to doing its job.  And without that server, all features of SonicWall’s products fail.  At least they fail “open” in that it allows traffic to pass, but then again, they fail open, allowing spam, viruses, web attacks and unauthorized content to pass too.

It would seem to me that a security company would know to keep such a critical system in a high-availability mode so a failure in the server would still allow its customers to use the products.  SonicWall’s customers are hurting and flooding the customer support lines and the calls are just rolling over to voicemail.

Now hackers know how to take down SonicWall customers-  Simply DDoS the license manager and walk into the enterprise of your choice.

Moonbat Actress Daryl Hannah Turns to Piracy on High Seas

Last I blogged about Daryl Hannah, she was up a tree in Los Angeles intefering with the property rights of private citizens, to prevent a landowner from using his land to build a warehouse.  Not happy with the amount of laws she broke to pursue her moonbat eco-religionist agenda, she has now joined the ship’s crew of Animal Planet’s Whale Wars so she can commit acts of piracy against Japan.

I have seen a few of these episodes, and the crew of the Steve Irwin, which sails from Australia, engage in illegal acts of war against peaceful Japanese crews.  Such piratical acts include attempts to disable the ships, throw acid at the Japanese crews and even illegal boardings.  From the AFP here:

Actress Daryl Hannah will sail for the inhospitable South Ocean on Wednesday as part of a campaign to stop Japanese whalers from slaughtering the giant animals.

Hannah, best known for her role as a mermaid in the 1984 hit “Splash”, will be part of the militant Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s annual campaign to find, track and impede the whaling ships.

The film star on Wednesday will join the “Steve Irwin”, which departs from the eastern Australian city of Brisbane, for the first week of the voyage.

Japan aims to kill 1,000 whales a year using a loophole in a 1986 global moratorium that allows “lethal research” on the ocean giants.

Why is it that leftists are always claiming that the United Nations can solve all their problems, and when it doesn’t, as in this case of failing to ban all whaling, they take matters into their own hands?  Why don’t they work out their differences peacefully, “make love, not war,” and get the laws changed at the United Nations?  Is it because the world thinks it is fair that this many animals are culled yearly? In 22 years, this topic hasn’t come up for discussion at the UN?

I hope she suffers from sea sickness.  One thing’s for sure.  Joining a pirate crew in 2008/2009 at the height of public outrage over piracy sure is a dumb thing to do.

The Japanese are sure to return to their whaling this year armed with defensive mechanisms to stop the pirates of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.  I hope they bring an armed escort.  It will make for a hilarious episode of Whale Wars.
