4 PM Music: Caspar Babypants – “$9.99″
Jun 4th
My kid is now at the age where he likes his own music and has the vocabulary, as well as the volume in his voice, to request, nay, demand, loudly, that we play his songs. One of the songs we heard over and over again on a trip to southern Virginia today was “little broken truck” by Caspar Babypants. I was going to post that song. Its here if you are interested in listening to a song that will make you slightly batty if you listen to it 5 times in a row. But I found this song, and its so much better.
For those that don’t know, Caspar Babypants is the alter-ego for Chris Ballew of the Presidents of the United States.

1 AM Music: Electric Tickle Machine – “Part of Me”
Jun 3rd
This band is a little offbeat. They have a new album coming out at the end of the month called “Blew it Again.” And yes, the album art is a little risque’.

Click below to listen to “Part of Me.” Their website is here.

5 PM Music: Goldfrapp – “Alive”
May 24th
I’m a big fan of Goldfrapp, but I almost didn’t post this video because it is so bizarre. Allison Goldfrapp looks like Olivia Newton John on a disco platform shooting lazer beams at her Kiss army minions while girls in leotards and legwarmers do some old-school jazzercising. But then it gets wierd.

4 PM Music: Nickelback – “This Afternoon”
May 23rd
This is a pretty humorous video that lampoons Nickelback as a band not worth kidnapping, and it also shows that some hard rock bands sound a little country when they play acoustic.

2 AM Music: The black Keys – “Tighten Up”
May 22nd
Okay, I know I just posted this song a little while ago, but this is a new video and it is much more funny than the original. There is inappropriate content so parental suggested guidance is advised, but I really don’t care about how you raise your kids. Go ahead and expose them to this awesome video, I care not!

Its Not a Loser Cruiser. Its a Swagger Wagon

No, I’m not getting a Mini van. But maybe after seeing this commercial, I might just maybe consider getting a Toyota.

10 PM Music: The Mother Hips – “Are You Free”
May 12th
Little known fact: Icy-blue-eyed blondes can outrun most asians, as proven in this video. The music is pretty chill, but the video is an amazing foot race through the best parts of San Francisco. And what’s in her bag?

When Keepin’ It Real Goes Wrong: Dallas Rap Video Turns Into Surprise Gunfight
May 12th
Police in Dallas are trying to figure out why an attempt to shoot a rap video at a busted-down gas station turned violent. They are also trying to figure out why Christians go to Church. They are also baffled as to why little kids like peanut butter sandwiches and why kittens like balls of yarn.
From WFAA here:
Dallas police are trying to figure out why the taping of a music video turned violent.
Three people were shot at the Bruton Mart Bazaar around 8 p.m. Police said all the victims — one woman and two men — were taken to Baylor University Medical Center for treatment and are expected to recover.
A large crowd of several hundred people lingered around the crime scene after the shootings. Off-duty officers from the Dallas City Marshal’s Officer were working at the site for the video shoot.
Did you know there is a computer program that helps young black aspiring musicians invent their wondrous music videos? Microsoft has a screenshot here:

Another awesome video from the Black Keys. They add a grainy video to really enhance their seventies funk sound.

What’s a Booty?
Apr 26th
These two dapper dressed gentlemen in the video below are singing about the need to have something, but the words just aren’t clear to me. Something about a booty?
Watch it to the end and I think you will be up and bouncing around the room and singing along.

3 PM Music: Editors – “Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool”
Apr 26th
I’m posting this mostly because of the bizarre animation. This looks like something Walt Disney has to animate while in Hell. The music sounds a bit like Peter Gabriel blended with Nine Inch Nails.

Infomercial Actors Fail at Everything
Apr 22nd
They can’t crack eggs. They can’t operate a simple blanket or glass of tea. Ironing board? No clue how to use it. Eyebrow tweezers? Baffling! Can’t open jars, chop nuts, find the car keys or remember WTF they wanted to go to a grocery store once they get there. Most of them can’t even shovel food into their gaping maws of a face without getting it on their clothes. Take all their failing ways and dump a Beatles Tune atop it and you get this awesome video.

5 PM Music: LCD Soundsystem – “Drunk Girls”
Apr 19th
A punk-style rock song about drunk girls who so willingly stand in line for an hour to pee. Thanks to Brandon for the link!

Remember Hootie and the Blowfish? Ever wonder what happened to him? There is a twang in his voice and he’s singing country music now.
