Three people were making bibles in Turkey. Christianity is not illegal in Turkey, and neither is making bibles. But to the intolerant Muslims, this was a crime against their religion, so they tied up the Bible Makers and slit their throats.

Police detained five more suspects Thursday in the deaths of three men who were found with their throats slit in a publishing house that prints Bibles, the latest in a string of attacks targeting Christians in the mostly Muslim country.
The arrests brought to 10 the number of suspects in custody, all people in their late teens or early 20s.
Local media said five suspects detained Wednesday were college students who were living at a residence that belongs to an Islamic foundation. Some of those suspects told investigators they carried out the killings to protect Islam, a Turkish newspaper reported.
“We didn’t do this for ourselves, but for our religion,” Hurriyet newspaper quoted one suspect as saying. “Our religion is being destroyed. Let this be a lesson to enemies of our religion.”
The three victims — a German and two Turkish citizens — were found with their hands and legs bound and their throats slit at the Zirve publishing house.
Making up less than 1 percent of Turkey’s 70 million people, Christians have increasingly become targets amid what some fear is a rising tide of hostility toward non-Muslims.
Even 1 percent of the population is too many for the genocidal worshippers of the Mo.

Demented Loser Seung Cho, the Hokie Killer, took a time-out on Monday’s murder spree to send a postal package to NBC News. In the package were data disks with quicktime videos taken from a handheld digital camera. In those videos, Cho refers to spilling blood and himself being crucified for the greed and debauchery of his classmates. He mentions dying for people like Jesus Christ for their hedonistic needs. It is clear Cho had a persecution complex, and he may have been schizophrenic.
Also included were several digital photos- poses of himself trying to look fearsome in his attack outfit. Timestamps on the files indicate that he may have been planning the rampage for up to six days.
Also, he makes a reference to the Columbine killers, Eric and Dylan as “martyrs.” The question is now- with the press showing this kind of posthumous show, including a slideshow and videos- what will the next deranged mass murderer try to do to top this? A song and dance maybe?

Three insurgents stormed a construction site late Tuesday in the Sisakorn district of Narathiwat province and fatally shot two Buddhist workers.
After shooting their victims, the attackers beheaded one of the corpses before fleeing. Beheading of Buddhists has become increasingly common in Thailand’s three Muslim-dominated southern provinces, where an insurgency has claimed more than 2,000 lives since 2004.
Buddhist civilians have been targeted by the insurgents in what is believed to be a tactic to drive them from the area and divide followers of the two religions.
They were just doing the will of Mohammad.

Freak. Loser. Misfit. Creepy weirdo. These seem to all be apt and accurate descriptions of the Hokie Killer, Seung Cho.
As more and more information seeps out about him, it is becoming crystal clear that Cho didn’t really belong at school. He had no friends, and even his own roommates in his dormitory suite thought he was withdrawn and a social outcast. They had even tried to engage him in conversation, but cho only ever gave one word mumbling responses. With the personality of a dead fish, his roommates just left him alone.
He was a zero when it came to the ladies. He acted more like a stalker and couldn’t score a date if he were the last man on campus. His school grades have not been released yet. They should be average or below. Anything higher and I would suspect that Va Tech was just sleeping on the scoring system and passing any student that paid tuition. Case in point, you should read the horrible play he wrote for his playwriting class. He was supposedly being taught by an “acclaimed” professor Ed Falco. Why this professor didn’t toss this loser out of his class is unknown.
In an article at CollegiateTimes, the fellow students remember with sadness how everyone knew Cho was a lunatic, but no one did anything to get him any help.
Stephanie Derry, a senior English major at Virginia Tech, was in a 3000 level Playwriting class with Cho Seung-Hui this spring semester taught by acclaimed professor Ed Falco.
She described Seung-Hui’s conduct in classes and how all the clues had been there, but could never imagine his bizarre behavior would ever materialize into these recent destructive events.
“Cho was really, really, quiet,” Derry said. “I can’t even remember one word he said the entire semester.”
“We were in a playwriting class together, which is a workshop class, meaning you submit your plays to everyone in it and then we all review the play in class and talk about it,” Derry said.
“His writing, the plays, were really morbid and grotesque,” Derry noted. “I remember one of them very well. It was about a son who hated his stepfather. In the play the boy threw a chain saw around, and hammers at him. But the play ended with the boy violently suffocating the father with a rice krispy treat,” Derry said.
“We made jokes around the class about his work, because it was just so fictional, so surreal, we just had to laugh,” Derry said, “We had to laugh because it couldn’t ever be real or truthful, I mean who throws hammers or chainsaws around?”
“But we always joked we were just waiting for him to do something, waiting to hear about something he did,” Derry said. “But when I got the call it was Cho who had done this, I started crying, bawling.”
“I kept having to tell myself there is no way we could have known this was coming,” Derry described. “I was just so frustrated that we saw all the signs, but never thought this could happen.”

He was a Korean man from Centreville, VA and was a senior, living on campus at Virginia Tech. He had a receipt for the purchase of a handgun, and the ballistics from the crime scenes confirmed that the student, Sueng-Hui Cho (it looks like official news reports are listing his last name first) was the shooter at both the dorm room and in the academic building.
They also found lengths of chain in his dorm room that was similar to what was used to chain the doors to Norris Hall. Also found was a suicide note explaining his motives.
As the names of the victims are released, I expect at least one-third of them to belong to the Northern Virginia area.
There are going to be dozens of questions and accusations and blame going around regarding this horrific crime. I think that when the scene settles down a bit there will be serious talk about preparedness on college campuses. Each college must have a plan in place that is practiced quarterly in how to respond to a critical situation on campus- such as a terrorist act, a hazmat situation, and of course, rampaging gunman.
It has been three years since Beslan. And no one in this country takes threats against our schools very seriously.

A gunman killed over 20 32 people on the campus of Virginia Tech this morning. As a Virginian, and like all Virginians, we are only 2 degrees of separation from someone we know who goes to school there. It is either a friend or a friend of a friend.
Details are still changing, but it seems that the crisis is over. From CollegiateTimes here:
Multiple shootings occurred on campus this morning. There have been 20 fatalities in a shooting that occurred in Norris Hall. There was one fatality in West Ambler Johnston and the other fatality was the shooter, who has not yet been identified, said Virginia Tech President Charles Steger at a press conference.
The first shooting occurred at 7:15 a.m. in West Ambler Johnston. Twenty of the fatalities occurred in Norris Hall, which happened approximately two hours later. The victims have not yet been identified. Some are confirmed as students. It has not been confirmed whether or not the shooter is a student.
Victims have been transported to various hospitals in the area. The victims¹ families will be notified as soon as the victims are identified.
The Virginia Tech Police, State Police and FBI are investigating. Campus will be closed for the remainder of the day. It will reopen tomorrow at 8 a.m, but classes will be cancelled.
Police are still investigating whether the two shootings are related. They are also investigating if it has any relation to the recent bomb threats on Tech¹s campus.
The police are sure that the campus is secure but advise everyone to remain indoors.
Campus traffic has been restricted; however, students are now able to leave campus if they wish. Families who wish to reunite with their students are encouraged to meet at The Inn at Virginia Tech. The best advice is to remain indoors, Steger said.
This is a sad day in Virginia.

I don’t even know what that headline means. An employee of Geek Squad in Industry, California made a house call and planted his cell phone in the customer’s bathroom to take video of her taking a shower.

A woman and her mother Wednesday sued Best Buy Stores after a technician from Geek Squad videotaped the woman taking a shower.
Sarah Vasquez and her mother, Natalie Fornaciari of Walnut, filed the lawsuit in Pomona Superior Court, alleging fraud, negligent misrepresentation, negligent hiring, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. They are seeking general, compensatory and punitive damages.
According to the suit, Fornaciari went to the Best Buy store in Industry on March 2 and asked an employee about getting her computer repaired. The employee gave her a brochure directing her to call a company called Geek Squad, the lawsuit stated.
A Geek Squad employee, Hao Kuo Chi, allegedly used a cell phone to videotape Vasquez when he went to the Fornaciari home on March 4, the lawsuit stated.
A review of the phone’s chip, which was removed by Vasquez’s younger sister, showed Vasquez showering, according to the lawsuit.
Chi later tried to get the chip back, offering a discount for his services if they returned it to them, the lawsuit stated. Chi was later arrested, the lawsuit stated. He and Geek Squad also are defendants in the lawsuit.
Ka-Ching! You know, the victim has hired Gloria Allred, the feminist attorney. I’m sure she took the case, not to champion feminism, but to cash in on Best Buy. But as a computer security pro, it could be argued that these women do not have a case. Seems to me that they tampered with the electronic evidence by removing the chip. That argument will likely fail if this guy turns out to be just another frustrated horny geek living in his mom’s basement.

Even though the article does not say so, I’m very certain that the person arrested in Columbus, Ohio on charges he was a member of Al-Queda was a black man and a member of a black supremacy group. Like the Nation of Islam.

A federal grand jury indicted a U.S. citizen on charges of joining al-Qaida and conspiring to bomb European tourist resorts and U.S. government facilities and military bases overseas.
Christopher Paul, 43, of Columbus, trained with al-Qaida in the early 1990s. He told al-Qaida members in Pakistan and Afghanistan that he was dedicated to committing violent jihad.Paul is charged with providing material support to terrorists, conspiracy to provide support to terrorists and conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
Paul traveled to Germany about April 1999 to train co-conspirators to use explosives to attack European and U.S. targets, including government buildings and vacation spots frequented by American tourists.
Paul was born Paul Kenyatta Laws. He legally changed his name to Abdulmalek Kenyatta in 1989, then to Christopher Paul in 1994, according to the indictment.
Two other Columbus men have been charged in federal investigators’ terrorism investigation. Iyman Faris was sentenced in 2003 to 20 years in prison for a plot to topple the Brooklyn Bridge. Nuradin Abdi, accused of plotting to blow up a Columbus-area shopping mall, is awaiting trial on charges including conspiring to aid terrorists.
It baffles me that black people in the United States would ever convert to Islam since it was Muslims that sold their ancesters into slavery. And it also baffles me that they would vote for Democrats since they were the ones that created Jim Crow laws, opposed the end of slavery, and voted against civil rights laws in the 60′s.
Update! I nailed it that he was black.
Nothing on his background has yet to come out that he was a member of a supremacist group, but he got mixed up in the dirty Islam somewhere. Wait for it….

A case of sibling fueding led one woman to list her sister’s house on Craigslist saying that everything in the house was free for the taking. And the lemmings of Tacoma Washington showed up in droves and took everything out of the house, including the toilet seat and the kitchen sink.
The victim insists that her sister is too stupid to figure out how to work Craigslist. I kinda doubt that. The stupid one might be the victim, Laurie Raye, who refuses to blame either Craigslist or her sister.

TACOMA, Wash. – A woman who had been evicted from a Tacoma house says she did not place the Craigslist ad that invited people to take anything they wanted from the house for free.
Lisa Scearcy admits she has a feud with her sister, Laurie Raye, who owns the house, but was not responsible for the hoax that led to the house being stripped.
“I didn’t do it,” Scearcy told The News Tribune on Friday. “Honest to God, on my mon’s grave, no I didn’t.”
Raye won’t say why she evicted Scearcy and said she doesn’t believe her sister placed the ad. “She’s not smart enough,” she said.
Lots of people saw or heard about the offer and on March 30th chaos ensued. Neighbors say they saw strangers pull up and haul away all sorts of stuff. Nearly everything of value had been stripped. Light fixtures, mirrors, baseboards, the hot water heater, cabinets, even the kitchen sink.
It wasn’t until Saturday, the 31st, when she went back to pick up her mail that she saw the damage.
“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,” she said.
Tacoma police are still investigating but have said the sibling rivalry is one of the reasons they’re not looking at this as a criminal case. They say it’s a civil matter.
I think it is a criminal matter and the police need to issue a subpoena to Craigslist for them to reveal the IP address of the person who posted the ad. Only then can you rule out the sister in this case. If she did post it, it most certainly should be a case of fraud.
And how stupid is the victim? Her ‘money quote’ in the story was “I was like, Oh my gosh!” Totally!

One of the frightening children’s stories about trolls who live under a bridge who will try to eat you is real in Miami, Florida. Rather than keeping child sex predators behind bars where they belong, they are released early. And because they are not allowed to live near children, some have taken to living homeless under bridges.
Meet Javier Diaz, also known as Javier Diary. He was 30 when he fondled a child and went to jail for it. Less then two years later he is out, living under a bridge with 4 other sex offenders, and the drive-by media is attempting to paint his plight as something we are supposed to feel sorry for.

Because an ordinance intended to keep predators away from children made it nearly impossible for them to find housing, five convicted sex offenders are living under a noisy highway bridge with the state’s grudging approval.
The five men under the Julia Tuttle Causeway are the only known sex offenders authorized to live outdoors in Florida.They have fishing poles to catch food, cook with small stoves, use battery-powered TVs and radios and keep their belongings in plastic bags. Javier Diaz, 30, has trouble charging the GPS tracking device he is required to wear; there are no power outlets nearby.
“You just pray to God every night, so if you fall asleep for a minute or two, you know, nothing happens to you,” said Diaz, who arrived this week. He was sentenced in 2005 to three years’ probation for lewd and lascivious conduct involving a girl under 16.
Forced to contend with rats, some of the men sleep on raised cardboard mats. Some have been staying under the bridge for weeks.
County Commissioner Jose Diaz said he had no qualms about the ordinance he created.
“My main concern is the victims, the children that are the innocent ones that these predators attack and ruin their lives,” he said. “No one really told them to do this crime.”
The whoosh of cars passing overhead echoes loudly under the causeway, which runs over Biscayne Bay, connecting Miami and Miami Beach.
Javier Diaz said he and the other men fear for their lives, especially because of “crazy people who might try to come harm sex offenders.”
So Javier Diaz prays to God every night that nothing happens to him? I suppose his victims and those of his perverted compatriots said prayers every night too, but that didn’t help them out much did it?
Are we supposed to feel sorry for these assholes? I have an idea- why not put them back in jail where they and the rest of society will feel more comfortable? Then we can all sleep better at night.

Virginia Representative Thelma Drake is doing something about illegal immigration. In the wake of the tragic automobile deaths of two young girls killed by a drunk driving illegal alien, Drake has introduced legislation that will help identify illegal aliens when they are charged with crimes in court, and get them deported.

U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake hopes a tragedy in her home district of Virginia Beach can help change the enforcement of immigration laws across the country.
Drake says she plans to introduce legislation that would facilitate the identification of illegal immigrants who have been charged with crimes in U.S. courts. The legislation would be inspired by the deaths last week of Alison Kunhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16 — killed by a drunken driver who later admitted to being an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Alfredo Ramos, 22, apparently had never previously been detected as an illegal immigrant despite at least three convictions and brushes with the law in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.
“This man has had previous crimes, been involved in our court system, been convicted,” Drake said. “If you show up in a courtroom, there has to be some way to determine if you’re a legal citizen or not. If you can’t get a Virginia driver’s license without proving that you’re legal, then how can you show up in a courtroom and not be found out?”
Virginia Beach has a good person in Congress.

Meet Lorelei Corpuz- a lesbian child predator who poses as a man to assault young girls.
Lorelei met a twelve year old girl in a mall two years ago and convinced her that she was a 15 year old orphan boy, when in fact, she was a 28 year old woman with a long criminal history.
She convinced the twelve year old that her parents were dead and she wanted to be her boyfriend. For some stupid reason the victim’s parents (lets call them enablers) allowed the supposed child to move in with them as a live in boyfriend for their very underaged daughter.

Everett police have accused a 30-year-old woman of posing as a boy and assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Papers filed in Everett District Court say Lorelei Josephine Corpuz presented herself as a 17-year-old boy named Mark Villanueva.
According to a police report, Corpuz befriended the teen-age girl in 2005 at a shopping mall and the family allowed “Mark” to live with the family as the young girl’s boyfriend.
Corpuz told the girl’s family that her mother died of cancer and that her father had committed suicide.
The true story came to light after “Mark” was pulled over for a traffic stop on Sunday with the girl in the car. Officers were told that Corpuz allegedly had beaten and sexually assaulted the girl.
Sergeant Robert Goetz says the family was surprised to learn that Mark was a 30-year-old woman. Corpuz was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of child rape and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
I think the children of this family need to be taken away from such irresponsible parents. No one should ever let a boyfriend move into the home of a 12 year old. How stupid and negligent are they?

Doofus hacker extraordinaire Gary McKinnon received a stinging rebuke at his extradition appeals hearing from the presiding judge. McKinnon is trying to avoid being extradited by claiming that the US trial will violate his “human rights.”

Gary McKinnon was arrested in 2002 following charges by U.S. prosecutors that he illegally accessed 97 government computers — including Pentagon, U.S. army, navy and NASA systems — causing $700,000 worth of damage.
Two of Britain’s leading judges rejected a High Court challenge by McKinnon to an earlier court order backed by Britain’s Home Secretary that he should be extradited.
“We do not find any grounds of appeal against the decision,” said one of the judges, Lord Justice Maurice Kay.
“Mr McKinnon’s conduct was intentional and calculated to influence and affect the U.S. government by intimidation and coercion. As a result of his conduct, damage was caused to computers by impairing their integrity, availability and operation of programs, systems, information and data on the computers, rendering them unreliable,” Kay said.
He has one more appeal before he is crated up and sent over here. And I really wish that news companies would stop referring to McKinnon as a “computer security expert.” He’s not. He’s a kooky, bumbling loser and a twat.

Lucky and Flo, the two black labs that are trained to sniff out the polycarbonate used in the manufacture of DVD’s have made another huge find in their war against DVD pirates. This time they discovered a hidden room full of DVD’s valued at a half-million bucks.

Two Malaysian dogs trained to sniff out DVDs have made their second big discovery of pirated movies, leading investigators to a hidden stash worth more than $430,000, a local newspaper said Sunday.
Lucky and Flo, two black Labradors, sniffed out at least 150,000 discs in a secret compartment in a shop in the capital Saturday after anti-piracy officials, acting on a tip-off, raided the place but failed to find anything, the New Sunday Times said.“They decided to call in the canine brigade,” it said. “Within minutes, the two Labrador retrievers sniffed out the hidden discs in a room that could only be accessed by the push of a button hidden under a plug outlet.”

Criminals are generally pretty stupid, but this one sounds like he would have gotten away with it- if it werent for the clues he left in his google search history.

A bank robbery suspect was arrested after leaving a trail of cyberclues, including an online search for “how not to rob a bank,” police said.
Kevin Fitzpatrick, 32, was arraigned Thursday on charges of robbery and larceny for a Sept. 28, 2005, robbery. He was held on unrelated charges in New York at the time of his arrest.
Police said Fitzpatrick was staying with a woman at the time of the Norwich robbery and spent a great deal of time on her computer. They had met on the Internet and had never met in person when he asked to stay for several days, borrowing her car the day of the robbery and returning with a lot of cash, claiming he won it at the Mohegan Sun casino, police said.
Police say Fitzpatrick walked into a Liberty Bank branch and handed a teller a note demanding money. A week later, a tip led police to the friend, who said she recognized Fitzpatrick from a surveillance photo posted on a newspaper Web site.
Police said when the friend checked the log of her computer, she noticed a search had been conducted for “Norwich bank robbery.” A police search of the computer revealed numerous searches concerning bank robberies.
His Google search for “How not to rob a bank” reveals this humorous list of common mistakes made in bank robberies. Also, the FBI describes bank robbers as:
“most modern-day bank robberies are “unsophisticated and unprofessional crimes,” committed by young male repeat offenders who apparently don’t know the first thing about their business.”

Hackers who trade credit card and stolen identities online are now communicating with each other over an encrypted chat program called Carder IM.

Hackers have built their own encrypted IM program to shield themselves from law enforcement trying to spy on their communication channels.
The application, called CarderIM, is a sophisticated tool hackers are using to sell information such as credit-card numbers or e-mail addresses, part of an underground economy dealing in financial data, said Andrew Moloney, business director for financial services for RSA, part of EMC Corp., during a presentation at the International e-crime Congress in London on Wednesday.
CarderIM’s logo is humorous: two overlapping half suns in the same red-and-yellow tones as MasterCard International Inc.’s logo. The name, CarderIM, is a reference to the practice of “carding,” or converting stolen credit-card details into cash or goods.
Often, the hackers who obtain credit-card numbers aren’t interested in trying to convert the data into cash. But other people are. On the Internet, the two can meet. But the data buyers and sellers are constantly on the lookout for the “rippers” — security experts or police who are gathering data on them, Moloney said.
“To get ahold of it [CarderIM] you need to be part of one of the trusted groups, which we have agents within,” Moloney said.
Hackers may have needed a more secure IM application, since most of the free ones, such as ICQ, transmit messages in clear text, which can be intercepted, Moloney said.
I’m not familiar with CarderIM, but I suspect that it is an IRC channel that is encrypted, or it is a thin client applet that connects to a remote server using strong authentication. For those that are not criminals and want to use encrypted chat, Skype is available.

My wife and I stayed up late last night and HBO aired a documentary, Montana Meth, which showed the devastating effects of meth use on the young citizens of Montana. It was horrifying. They repeated one statistic that 85% of Montana court cases either deal directly or peripherally with meth use or crimes related to meth.
I’m a bit lucky in that I live in a region of the US where meth doesn’t seem to be a factor. But this drug is wiping out towns of young people. And Native American tribes are particularly worried that this drug may end their ancestral lines.
How bad is it? Bad enough that Montanameth.Org has a series of frightening and realistic television commercials aimed at keeping people from using meth. Their motto is “meth- not even once.” Click on over there and check them all out. Those commercials scared me- and I hope they scare their intended audience too. It makes meth addicts look like zombies! Seriously, the most frightening anti-drug ads ever.

The charges against the Duke Lacrosse Players is due to be dropped soon. Then will come the civil suits against North Carolina, Mike Nifong, and probably Duke University. They should also sue the lying whore who started all of this, at least for the price of the lapdances she never delivered.

The remaining charges against three Duke University lacrosse players originally indicted for rape may be dropped sometime within the next few days, according to a report.
The assault and attempted kidnapping charges still pending against Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, N.Y.; Dave Evans, 23, of Bethesda, Md.; and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Falls, N.J., will soon be dropped.
The case caused a firestorm of racial tension in a community. Lacrosse coach Mike Pressler was essentially fired and last year’s spring season was canceled, Seligmann and Finnerty were suspended (Evans had already graduated by the time the story came out), and Duke began a rigorous review of how alcohol on and around campus is treated.
There have been rumors that the families of Finnerty, Seligmann and Evans may be considering civil lawsuits against Nifong, Duke or the state if it turns out the accuser’s story doesn’t pan out and Nifong is found to be guilty of mishandling the case.
The North Carolina State Bar has charged Nifong with several violations of rules governing professional conduct, including withholding evidence from defense lawyers. He’s also accused of lying to the court and to bar investigators, and making misleading and inflammatory comments about the players.
Legal experts have said Nifong could be disbarred if he’s convicted.
Even the race-baiters such as the Black Panther Party and Al Sharpton are staying quiet about this.

Earlier this week I wrote about Lucky and Flo, two Black Labs who specialize in sniffing out pirated DVD’s. Well, it seems that the DVD Pirate ring has put a bounty on those doggies’ heads.

Malaysian movie pirates have put a bounty on the heads of two sniffer dogs who busted a fake DVD ring with a seizure of discs worth about $3 million (1.5 million pounds), media and officials said on Thursday.
“As a result of the extent of loss to the pirate syndicate, we have information from the domestic trade ministry that the Johor syndicate is intent on killing Lucky and Flo,” said Neil Gane, an official of the Motion Picture Association.“The Malaysian authorities are taking this threat seriously and the security around the dogs’ current location has been beefed up,” he told Reuters.
In Tuesday’s raid, the two dogs helped seize a cache of around a million pirated game and movie discs in the southern city of Johor Baru, neighbouring Singapore. At least six people were arrested.
How do you protect dogs? With other dogs? I wonder if Lucky and Flo will be fed wet dog food?

Two dogs, Lucky and Flo, employed by the Motion Pictures Association of America, the MPAA, are in Malaysia looking for pirated DVD’s. And they are meeting with some success. This is important because software and movie piracy is a security risk and a legal liability. And the worst offenders are typically far eastern countries.

A whiff of plastic led sniffer dogs in Malaysia to a cache of about one million pirated game and movie discs with a street value of roughly $3 million, film industry officials said on Tuesday.
The find was the first major success for Lucky and Flo, two female black Labradors deployed last week as part of Malaysia’s battle on illegal recordings of music and movies, said Neil Gane, an official of the Motion Picture Association.
The dogs are being given a month’s trial by Malaysian officials in a joint effort with the Motion Picture Association, which groups six major Hollywood film companies.
Fighting pirates in Malaysia is nothing new- in fact, its old hat for the United States. Even President Andrew Jackson dispatched pirate hunters to Kuala Batu in the early 1830′s to kill a bunch of pirates who were disrupting American trade there.
Old Hickory sent a warship, the Potomac, armed with forty 32-lb guns to destroy pirate forts. Marines serving on the Potomac went ashore and killed over 300 pirates.
And regardless what you think of the MPAA, entertainment is a commodity, and one which brings in billions in trade to the economy. It deserves protection from piracy just like our other goods. Now we use dogs before we start bombardment from offshore.
