A British court handed down jail time Thursday to four hackers that were part of a notorious splinter group of the Anonymous hacker collective known as LulzSec.

• Ryan Cleary, 21, aka “ViraL,” received 32 months.  Cleary will also receive a separate sentence in connection with a charge of possession of images showing child abuse, to which he pleaded guilty.
• Jake Davis, 20, aka “Topiary,” received two years
• Ryan Ackroyd, 26, aka “Kayla,” received 30 months
• Mustafa Al-Bassam, 18, aka “tFlow,” was given 20-months, though his sentence was suspended for two years.  Bassam was still in school when the attacks were carried out, likely a consideration in the Judge’s decision to suspend Bassam’s sentence.

The LulzSec splinter group was largely disrupted after it was revealed in an unsealed indictment in the US that one if its core members, Hector Xavier Monsegur aka “Sabu,” was previously arrested and had been secretly cooperating with the FBI to help infiltrate and disrupt the group.  Sabu’s cooperation is believed to have exposed many of the other LulzSec members’ activities and resulted in some of the subsequent indictments.

As mentioned previously, these skiddies are already pretending to be arm-flapping asspies to avoid extradition to the United States to face charges. I just hope those British jail cells allow enough wiggle room for their arm flapping- but if not, there is always the exercise yard.

A box containing $625,000 in gold arrived at Miami International Airport early Tuesday but disappeared about an hour and a half later, Miami-Dade police say.

An American Airlines plane arrived at Miami International Airport from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and docked at Gate D3 at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Miami-Dade Police Department incident report. A group of employees unloaded the plane — including the box containing the gold — and moved it to the other side of the plane about 5:15 a.m.

A tug arrived at the plane from Gate D6, according to the report. It then drove away with the cart holding the plane’s cargo at 5:22 a.m. Surveillance video showed the tug continue to D37 before it entered an alley and disappeared from the video.

The cart was found in front of Gate D19 at 6:20 a.m. but without the box containing the gold.

The report doesn’t indicate who owns the gold or where it was headed. Sources told Local 10 the gold was going to NTR Metals in Doral, a refining and recycling company that deals in precious metals. The business offered no comment to Local 10 about the heist.

22-year-old Dalton Newhouse of Oak Hill, and an accomplice, used a rifle to shoot down a high-tension power transmission line, police said. They planned to strip the line of its copper wiring and sell it.

When Newhouse picked up the wire, it killed him instantly, according to a news release. His accomplice was identified as Charles Raymond Norris, 22, of Oak Hill, who was arrested Wednesday.

Norris was charged with attempting to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and disruption of a public utility.

He was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court, where he posted his own bail.

Appalachian Power spokesman Phil Moye said about 50 customers were without electricity for three hours. He called copper thefts a “tragedy” and urged would-be thieves to think twice.

Its a real shame if this idiot left family behind but he really got what he deserved. Man, this blog post just reminded me that I need to get batteries for my Blu-Ray remote.

So is Drudge correct? Will hackers break into the Obamacare database and expose health privacy information of Americans? Would hackers release a database of anyone who received drug rehab treatments? How about HIV infections? What about abortions? Once the government puts all of that information in a single place it will get breached. Think it can’t happen? Well, it already did- at least in the Veterans Administration, the health model that Obamacare is based on.

In 2010 I had the pleasure of working on the VA’s network. I had full network packet access and some of the breaches I saw were absolutely shocking. For one, there was tons of Russian Botnet Beaconing on the network’s backbone. When traced, it was discovered that most of the beaconing was originating from small linux boxes that were purchased by the VA for use by doctors to remotely monitor veterans’ health. These tiny linux boxes monitored things like blood O2 levels, heartrate, IV drips, and so forth. But these boxes came from the manufacturer with these Russian botnets pre-installed.

When we asked the VA if they were going to disinfect these boxes, they refused to do so. They cited Veteran’s health as more important than cyber-security issues. So the Russian botnets stayed, collecting and exfiltrating data to criminals. And it will be child’s play for Anonymous or other hacker groups to stage a similar wide-scale breach. Think it was shocking when Wikileaks posted secrets online? Wait until no one has medical privacy anymore. Obamacare will be expensive, breachable, and will do nothing to improve anyone’s healthcare. Drudge thinks Ocare cyber breaches will happen, and I know for a fact it will.

David Beckman, 64, faces a charge of misdemeanor animal cruelty after police said he sexually abused his pet peacock.

Beckman was charged with the crime after police learned the bird died while they were investigating Beckman about an alleged case of indecent solicitation of a child.
Details surrounding the case with the peacock, reportedly named Phyl, were unclear Friday

Court records confirmed Beckman faces three charges of harassment by telephone, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of marijuana possession, attempted indecent solicitation of a child, cruelty to animals, and two counts of battery.

The Boston bombing case has revealed failures on many fronts.

Yesterday, Boston Police Commissioner Davis testified before Congress that cops on the Boston Joint Terrorism Task Force had never been told about the FBI’s investigation into Tsarnaev back in 2011, so they had no reason to keep an eye on him.

Worse, they weren’t told until after the deadly shooting in Cambridge, so local cops had no reason to go look for him during those several days after the bombing.

Think about that: A guy is on not-one-but-two terror watch lists, he has traveled to Dagestan — and after three people are killed and hundreds injured, the FBI doesn’t even have him on their radar.

Nobody from Tsarnaev’s mosque notified his department about Tsarnaev after his shouting matches with fellow Muslims. Or after some in the Islamic Society of Boston feared he was becoming extreme in his views. The Muslims of our community should have approached the cops. They didn’t.

And Davis’ solution?

“Government should tighten security around celebratory public events and consider using more undercover officers, special police units and technology, including surveillance cameras,” according to his testimony.

“Images from cameras do not lie. They do not forget,” Davis said. “They can be viewed by a jury as evidence of what occurred.”

Wait — so the FBI and my Muslim neighbors sit on information before and after a terrorist bombing, and you want more spying on?…?me? How does that make sense? I have to stumble from one Back Bay bar to another under government monitoring because the feds didn’t want to tell the cops about a local Muslim guy with connections to Chechen terrorism?

And who cares about the “viewed by a jury” part? That’s for prosecuting crimes after the fact. How about doing something to prevent the next bombing before it happens?

The Boston bombers didn’t almost get away because we had a surveillance failure — we had an intelligence failure. A suspect who should have been front and center was, somewhere along the way, swept under the rug.

“More spying” isn’t the lesson to learn. “Smarter, targeted spying” is.

I think more cameras are indeed good for forensics purposes, but cameras are not a preventative measure. Only by actually following up on intelligence will stop another domestic terror attack. Queasiness and lack of political will to do what is obvious- monitoring radicals in Muslim communities- is the only way we will prevent another Boston bomber. But as long as liberals are running things, we remain in danger.

Three women who went missing separately about a decade ago were found Monday in a home just south of downtown and likely had been tied up during years of captivity, said police, who arrested three brothers. One of the women said she had been abducted and told a 911 dispatcher in a frantic call, “I’m free now.”

Crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where the city’s police chief said he thought Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had been held since they went missing when they were in their teens or early 20s.

The women appeared to be in good health and were taken to a hospital to be evaluated and to reunite with relatives. Police said a 6-year-old also was found in the home, but the child’s identity or relationship to anyone in the home wasn’t revealed.

Neighbors said they heard someone kicking at a door, yelling for help and trying desperately to get outside the house.

A neighbor, Charles Ramsey, told WEWS-TV he saw Berry, whom he didn’t recognize, at a door that would open only enough to fit a hand through.

“I heard screaming,” he said. “I’m eating my McDonald’s. I come outside. I see this girl going nuts trying to get out of a house.”

On a recorded 911 call Monday, Berry declared, “I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been on the news for the last 10 years.”

She said she had been taken by someone and begged for police officers to arrive at the home on Cleveland’s west side before he returned.

Cleveland is an awful town. It’s drab, crime riddled, and the neighbors allow people to keep kidnap victims as pets. If it wasn’t for an Egg McMuffin, these three women would still be locked up. Do you think the News Producers could have asked this brave hero to take off his backwards ballcap prior to the interview?

he University of Wyoming Police Department says Meg Lanker-Simons created the anonymous threat of sexual violence targeted at her on social media last week.

Lanker-Simons accused an anonymous source of posting a threat of rape on the Facebook page “UW Crushes” on April 24. But the citation issued Monday claims Lanker-Simons admitted to making the post, then lying about it.

UW Crushes was a forum designed for students to anonymously write about their love interests and sexual desires. UW administrators have since had the page removed. Prior to its removal, anyone could have signed into a Facebook account, gone to UW Crushes and secretly submitted a comment via a link to surveymonkey.com. The posts were then made public on Facebook.

“I want to hatef— Meg Lanker- so hard,” the Facebook post read. “That chick that runs her liberal mouth all the time and doesn’t care who knows it. I think its hot and it makes me angry. One night with me and she’s gonna be a good Republican b—-.”

Lanker-Simons is a well-known liberal blogger and radio host whose fans were upset about the Facebook comment. The post sparked rape-culture awareness protests on Monday at the university.

Lanker-Simons also has detractors. She and former 1960s radical Bill Ayers sued UW in 2010 to allow Ayers to speak on campus about education issues. Lanker-Simons and Ayers won the case, and Ayers spoke on campus later that year. Many people were outraged at Lanker-Simons. She claimed to have received death threats.

Nobody wants to fuck Meg Lanker, hatefully or otherwise. Her imagined injustices makes her a bat-shit crazy loudmouth. Couple that with her obesity, bad breath, and lack of showers, and she will be completely unfuckable. Rape culture is imaginary, and this rape culture fantasy is especially prevalent on college campuses.
