Fake Rape Victim Jailed for Lies

A Hampton woman is going to jail for just two months for lying about a man raping her when she was younger. That innocent person spent 4 years in jail and basically had his life ruined because this evil girl falsely accused him of rape. Oh, and she owes the guy 90,000 dollars, which hardly scratches the surface for lost income while he was behind bars. And the real kick in the ass is that the man still has this fake conviction on his record.

A Hampton woman who fabricated a sexual assault that led to the conviction of an innocent man has been sentenced to two months in jail.

According to media reports, a Hampton Circuit Court judge on Monday also ordered 26-year-old Elizabeth Coast to make $90,000 restitution to Johnathan Montgomery.

Coast pleaded guilty to perjury in May. She had claimed that Montgomery molested her in 2000 when he was 14 and she was 10. Montgomery was convicted and sentenced to 7½ years in prison.

Coast recanted her story last year. She said her parents caught her looking at pornography in 2007, so she made up a story of prior sexual abuse to explain her behavior.

Montgomery has been freed from prison and is seeking a writ of actual innocence.

What an awful miscarriage of justice. A man was sent to prison based on no evidence other than an accusation, and this woman gets a slap on the wrist. Those two months in jail will be served on the weekends.
