Liberals Introduce Bill of Attainder to Strip Washington Redskins of Trademark

A Bill of Attainder is any legislation created to attack a person or corporation to declare them guilty of a crime and strip them of rights afforded other people, without the benefit of a trial. In Washington, non-voting congressman Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton drafted a bill to strip the Washington Redskins of the right to profit from their own trademarked name unless they drop the offensive team name of “Redskins” which is a derogatory term to non-working, lazy, drunk Americans living on tribal lands.

From the WashTimes here:

A group of Democrats introduced legislation to the House Wednesday that would implicitly require the Washington Redskins football team to change its name.
The Non-Disparagement of American Indians in Trademark Registrations Act of 2013, co-sponsored by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, would prevent the term “Redskins” from being trademarked and would erode profits to the team by allowing other businesses to sell apparel and goods featuring the name.

This is despicable and evil and a clear violation of the Constitution. It will never get past Congress and would never survive a Supreme Court review, but it didn’t stop this wretched woman from creating the bill in the first place. Hell, I’m not a lawyer, never been elected, but even I know what a Bill of Attainder is. I learned it in the 9th grade social studies. Too bad the people of Washington DC keep sending this uneducated woman to Congress to represent them.

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.

Just curious, was it a horrible violation of the Constitution when Kennedy forced the Redskins to hire a minority against their will (I believe over a decade after everyone else had)?

  • Racists see only race. You should seek help.
