Navy Women Finally Coming Home Without Being Pregnant

Some chick that looks like Robin Scherbatsky from How I Met Your Mother arrived ashore with a golden ticket in her hand giving her the happy privilege of having the first kiss upon homecoming.

Supposedly this is controversial, but gays have been running down the gangplanks for centuries (if you know what I mean) upon returning from a voyage. Good for Petty Officer Gaeta. She strikes me as a fine seaman and an asset to the Navy. This wasn’t a stunt to push an agenda, either. I don’t object to women aboard ships, nor do I object to gays in the military if they serve with honor and distinction. But far too many women have returned from a voyage pregnant, and it is that kind of fraternization that I object to.

Dr. Jones

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.

  • I wonder if people would have reacted differently if these two were very butch and masculine? I mean nobody objects to two lipstick lesbos making out….I know I enjoy it.

To be serious for a minute, I don’t have a problem with this as long as they do their jobs like everybody else and don’t rub our noses in their sexuality…..heh heh. (I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t be serious for a minute)

  • Ed, I was stricken with the same feelings. She won a lottery drawing fair and square- and even if she were a cow, I don’t think it would change the circumstances, other than to perhaps draw some ridicule.

If this had been staged, or I detected an agenda or propaganda, I would reject this as disingenuous. But all I can see is a heartfelt welcome home kiss.

  • Oh, and the local talk shows on the radio were beside themselves with anger over this. Not sure why, as I turn the channel when I don’t like what I’m hearing.

  • Dr. Jones, yeah even Drudge was running the headline, “Navy picks lesbian couple for first kiss”. The Navy didn’t pick them, they won a lottery fair and square as far as I can tell. If the Navy did rig the lottery, that would be bad, but why would the Navy risk pissing off that many sailors who also entered the lottery? In short, it wouldn’t.

Having said that, I wonder what the reaction would have been had the kiss been between a male fighter pilot and his male civilian lover? Probably not as friendly. Two hot chicks making out doesn’t threaten our sense of….whatever, like two dudes…..why is that? IDK.
