EarthQuakes in Mexico and California- More Haitians Dead

Several Haitians, who had been on travel to Mexico during the devastating earthquakes that struck in January, were smitten by God and crushed under an adobe and cinderblock construct they had created once they realized they couldn’t go home.

More aftershocks — some in the 5.0- to 6.0-magnitude range — are expected to shake Southern California in the wake of Sunday’s magnitude-7.2 earthquake near Mexicali. The quake was felt throughout Southern California.

“It sounds like it’s felt by at least 20 million people at this point,” USGS seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones said. “Most of Southern California felt this earthquake.”

Initial reports said the quake was magnitude-6.9, but officials with the USGS later changed the figure to 7.2. The USGS timeline shows a swarm of aftershocks and other earthquakes.
