Erin Marcove Does the World a Favor By Removing Herself From it

Erin Marcove never made a correct decision in her whole life, except for the one that ended her otherwise miserable string of bad decisions. That final decision was to kill herself. It was probably for the best. She was a 44 year old grandmother of a three year old boy. She deliberately fed this boy cookies made from marijuana butter that she cooked up on her own stovetop using supposed “medical marijuana.”

When she groggily came to the next morning at her customary noonish time, she checked to find out why her neglected three year old grandson wasn’t already awake trying to sustain itself on catfood or any other stale cheetos he could scavenge. Instead she found the toddler passed out from a marijuana overdose and she refused to take him to the hospital. While under investigation for child endangerment, she finally made the right call and “an hero’d” herself. Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.

From the Examiner here with much thanks to Red Alerts:

On the evening of Dec. 4, Erin Marcove made cookies for her 3-year-old grandson made with her favorite ingredient…Marijuana.

Marcove told police that she gave the boy the cookies which she made with “cannabis butter” around 10:30 p.m. The next day, she could not wake him.

The grandmother told investigators that when she awoke at noon, her grandson “was still sleeping, which was odd and she couldn’t get him to wake him up”

Hours later, Marcove placed the toddler in a cold shower, after he remained unresponsive. She then called the boy’s mother, but refused to call an ambulance for the child.

Once the boy’s mother arrived, she called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital. He required treatment in an intensive care unit, and tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

According to an arrest affidavit, police found a green jar of “suspected cannabis butter” in the refrigerator.

While still under investigation for the incident, Marcove committed suicide on Dec. 12.

Marcove was the Colorado president of “bitches to legalize marijuana” or some similar acronym. She claimed to have use pot medicinally her whole life for back problems, which is unusual because her state didn’t recognize the medicinal usage of the drug until recently. Which means she was using it illegally for years and was working to force society to allow her to continue to be a pot addict without reprisals or criminal action against her. Nice that it all worked out for her in the end.

No one can confuse a greenish foul smelling gel with butter. This bitch of a failure poisoned her own grandchild because she was a pot addict. As Rob Taylor like to call it, this victimless crime claims one more victim.

Do not talk about fight club. Oops.

  • I saw the articles and they had no bearing on this post. It did nothing to contribute to the conversation. And you coming on here and taking the immdeiate stance that pot’s not poisonous when a child was hospitalized with an overdose just made you look like a pot activist, and a retard.

It took you three responses to acknowlege that a crime had taken place, but you are far more concerned with making sure no one labels your precious reefer as a poison.

And don’t give me that liberal claptrap about not lying to children. By refusing to acknowlege that marijuana usage is detrimental to the health is lying to children. Your backwards, liberal-dominated state of California has banned a perfectly legal product of tobacco in restaurants, but is now on the verge of legalizing a narcotic to be smoked.

Meanwhile, little kids get poisoned by their pot-crazed grannies and you go around trying to squelch any news about this.

The articles showed that cannabis isn’t always a poison speaking in pharmacological terms, especially when consumed orally. Just because the child was hospitalized doesn’t mean that he had to be either. I’m sure the child would have recovered just fine even if intervention had not occurred. Yes, I know the article says the child required admittance into the ICU but science says otherwise (even the DEA would agree with me on that).

And I’m not trying to squelch any news about this. I think it’s a shame that incidents like this happen. No child deserves this and no person should go unpunished for causing/allowing it to happen.

That’s cool though, you have fun with your little blog, spreading misinformation. Hell, I’m such a stupid pothead I think I might even bookmark it and stay tuned. 😉

  • Dennis, are you saying that your real problem here is that doctors chose to treat an overdosed three year old rather than just giving him some cheetos and parking him on the sofa until he came down? Cause I think that’s what you are saying.

Doctors are wrong about how they treat drug overdoses, but the scientists you like, who have no practical experience treating medical emergencies do? And what is even more hilarious and fictitious is that you think the DEA would also agree with that course of treatment?

All that pot smoke clearly clouds your judgement.

One thing that needs to be remembered here, with all the nasty opinions you may have… is that she had a family, a mother and and a father that loved her, sisters and a brother that also loved her, no matter what issues she may have had, she also had a loving husband, 3 boys and grandchildren. We are not saying Erin was perfect, heck, none of us are.. but obviously, in the end this has affected many lives, some who are still trying to grieve and get through this… please, please respect this!! Thank you!

  • Molly Zeman, how’s that real estate business in Denver doing? Was Molly your drug dealer or friend or acquaintance?

I really fail to see how any of my “opinions” (facts) were nasty? If you have some sort of anecdote on how she once made a good decision in her life, now would be the time to share it. My contention is that she was a horrible decision maker who burdened her family with her drug addiction and no one close to her was able to make her stop. In the end, her suicide was probably her wisest decision after attempting to poison her own grandson.

So are you saying that I shouldn’t state what appears to be obvious because this horrible grandmother had relatives? Are you grieving or just dry and new a new dope dealer?

  • I knew Erin, she was a great person. Yea she messed up but don’t we all??? And just because she took her life does not mean it makes the world a better place. You have some nerve talking crap about a person you don’t even know. There are millions of other people that should be dead but aren’t why don’t you talk about them instead of someone you never met.

  • “Messing Up” is when you accidentally use Nair on your hair instead of shampoo. Erin allowed her grandson to overdose on pot butter while she was too stoned to get up to feed him.

I hope you can see the difference, Glo. Which millions of people are you talking about that you wish were dead? Who knew that smoking pot made you genocidal?

  • She did not allow her grandson to eat the cookie she had 2 different batches of cookies. And I never said I wished they would be dead…get it right!!!! And I’m not genocidal, smoking pot has nothing to do with being genocidal. Your just a jerk who has nothing better to do then talk shit about someone you never even met…GET A LIFE!!!!!!

  • You are entitled to your opinion albeit disgustingly biased and hand-fed in origin. However, you have no right to say:
    – pot “overdose”
    – a human is rubbish
    – suicide is a good choice
No mammal can OD on THC except for a lab rat injected with the equivalent of the substance found in 5lbs of marijuana.

    So… Fuck you.

  • Belch? More like a stinky shit!

  • Okay this is the first time I’ve seen this fucking blog and I’m fucking pissed off like no one else. Erin was my mother a GREAT PERSON LOVING PERSON. And for to call her all those fucking names and to say she did the world a favor by taking her own life is just god damn unruly you never knew my mom and have no FUCKING RIGHT TO PUT HER DOWN LIKE THAT. If I ever run into you on the street you best know it will be the last thing you ever regret. You have no FUCKING right to to say all the nasty shit about my mom and I’ll make you pay for every word you wrote. Best believe you piece of shit Karma will come around to you for all the shit you said. So fuck off and go die ajd make this world a better place with your ads gone.

  • Hello Z. I quoted a news article and formed an opinion on it. Which is perfectly legal to do. Making threats on the internet to someone who has your IP address and email address is NOT legal. Nice to see that the rotten apple hasnt fallen very far from the tree. Also, Karma isnt a thing except to pot smoking hippies.

  • This article is absolutely putrid. Suicide is never ok and it’s never something to talk lightly about. She mad a mistake with her grandson and probably regretted it. These words mocking a dead person is disgusting and uncalled for. The author of this article is clearly a miserable and deplorable human being to use the death of someone for a political point. Rot in hell asshole

  • Go find your kids that you lost custody off fucker. Nobody loves you maybe you should follow Erin’s choices.
