See That Burning Car With the Family Trapped Inside? If its California Plates, Let ’em Fry

The California Supreme court ruled that good samaritans can be held liable for injuries suffered by victims during good faith rescue attempts. California won’t be happy until the whole State uses a combination of Darwinism and stupidity to weed out the whole lot of them. Next time there is a massive wildfire, just bring the marshmallows. Mudslide? Don’t bother to help dig anyone out. Earthquake? Let those neighbors rot under the rubble- unless they can get a lawyer to help them sign a waiver first.

HotAir has all of the details here along with the story. Ed of HotAir says:

The court has sent a signal to the people of California: don’t get involved.  If someone’s drowning, don’t jump in the lake and save them.  If someone’s trapped in a car that’s about to explode, sit there and watch the show.  Just make a phone call, and who cares that it might be several minutes before an EMS team can make it to the scene?  If you sit on your hands, no one can sue you for all you’re worth.

I wonder if the life insurance rates of Californians will go up now?
