Pope Fever!

Its a slow blogging day today, and work has me bogged down. I did get to watch the Pope’s State welcome on TV this morning, and I was amazed by all of the pomp and ceremony given the Pope. Not because I didn’t think he deserved it, but I don’t often get to see big state welcomes. Usually I only see newsbites of the President meeting with a foreign dignitary in a sitting room. But today I got to see marching fife and drum corps, an opera singer, the Marine band and Chorus, and more, all set under a crystal blue sky on a great spring day.

I think its pretty cool that we can put on show of this magnitude. But I’m not Catholic, so I don’t get excited about old dudes in white robes.
