I have a great new post up over at Geeks Are Sexy. I write about the panic that Pennsylvania State experienced when they detected Chinese IPs probing four separate servers of the State Government.

Rather than blackhole the Chinese and patch the webservers, the State of Pennsylvania’s response plan was to pull the ethernet cable from their firewall.

So if you are a hacker and want to take a whole state off the Internet? Just probe four servers and watch the State disconnect itself in a panic.

Way to hang tough, Pennsylvania.
