Percocet, Vodka and Parenting Skills

This is Holly Schnobrich.  Fresh off of a DUI conviction, she got hopped up on Percocets and Vodka and then made her 5 year-old son drive her home.  Yee Haw!

From the Indychannel here:

A woman was arrested for letting her 5-year-old son drive her around while she was intoxicated, police said.

Holly Schnobrich, 24, of Lafayette, was charged with felony neglect and public intoxication after neighbors told police the boy was driving her and his 3-year-old brother in their subdivision early Sunday.  Wendy Barrett, a resident of the Saddlebrook subdivision, said Weston Schnobrich was behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Galant that stopped in front of her home.

“So I approach the car, and the windows come down and there is a toddler on his knees, controlling the steering wheel.  Barrett said she saw Holly Schnobrich buckled in the front passenger seat, and the 3-year-old was crawling in the back.  “I asked her, ‘Ma’am, are you OK? Do you need some help? Is this your toddler?’ She admitted, ‘Yes, but he’s a good driver,'” Barrett recalled.

Holly Schnobrich admitted taking the prescription painkiller Percocet with vodka. She also had a near-empty bottle of sleeping pills that she told them she had for two days, according to the affidavit.

On Thursday, Weston said that he was having a hard time driving.  “My legs were too short to reach the pedals,” he said.  “I want to be a race car driver when I grow up,” he said.

Prosecutors said Schnobrich pleaded guilty last week to an unrelated charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to the Smoking Gun here, Schnobrich was taking the pills because the kids were “acting wild.”  She needed to be high to deal with the kids.

I just finished watching Ricky Bobby the other night and couldn’t help but think of this scene below.

I really like this blog good job.

  • You should have did your homework a little better. Blood alcohol was 0.00, and Blood and urine was negative for drugs. But that wouldn’t be a good story would it…

  • Hi Sara. Unfortunately I’ll take the sworn testimony of a policeman over a random visitor to this site. You have any proof of your claims? Now’s your chance to show me.

  • Then you should read officers paperwork because its there. Toxicology wasn’t released for over a month after, but breathalyzer that night on the scene was 0.00. That’s why there was no owi / oui charge. First reports made were very far from what actually happened and I’m just saying that instead of running with a story people should actually know what the hell their talking about FIRST.

  • That thing called links? Its missing from your “proof.” Please include a link to whatever official reports you have access to. The record can’t be corrected unless you do it.

  • Not able to upload court papers on here, but I’ll gladly email you. Reguardless unless FACTS are checked its sad the media in general will just run with a “story”

  • I was quoting a reputable source that claimed Holly admitted to drinking and taking percocet at the time of her arrest. Complaining to me about it seems a bit silly since I wasn’t the source of the story, but then again, I wasn’t able to see any evidence to the contrary online. I’m sure a court document that states her innocence can be located, and if not, the story still holds true since it quotes an affidavit from an Indiana law enforcement official. Not running with the story, just quoting the facts available at hand.
