Virginia Congresswoman Drake
Apr 6th
Virginia Representative Thelma Drake is doing something about illegal immigration. In the wake of the tragic automobile deaths of two young girls killed by a drunk driving illegal alien, Drake has introduced legislation that will help identify illegal aliens when they are charged with crimes in court, and get them deported.

From the Daily Press here:
U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake hopes a tragedy in her home district of Virginia Beach can help change the enforcement of immigration laws across the country.
Drake says she plans to introduce legislation that would facilitate the identification of illegal immigrants who have been charged with crimes in U.S. courts. The legislation would be inspired by the deaths last week of Alison Kunhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16 — killed by a drunken driver who later admitted to being an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Alfredo Ramos, 22, apparently had never previously been detected as an illegal immigrant despite at least three convictions and brushes with the law in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.
“This man has had previous crimes, been involved in our court system, been convicted,” Drake said. “If you show up in a courtroom, there has to be some way to determine if you’re a legal citizen or not. If you can’t get a Virginia driver’s license without proving that you’re legal, then how can you show up in a courtroom and not be found out?”
Virginia Beach has a good person in Congress.

John Edwards to Call New Press Conference
Apr 6th
John Edwards expressed disappointment today in a recent dip in the polls due to an announcement that his wife’s bone cancer is likely controllable by drugs. So the Presidential hopeful intends to call a press conference next week to announce the abnormal results of his wife’s most recent pap smear.

“Sure, its just one or two cells, but cervical cancer can be a killer too,” said an anonymous campaign worker and expert on popular carcinomas. “Besides, now that we have gotten the word out on getting mammograms, its time to focus on other women’s medical exams like the pap smear.”
Asked if the abnormal results could be indicative of a genital wart infection, or HPV, the campaign worker was quick to deny the charge. “Certainly HPV causes cervical cancer, but Mrs. Edwards does not have HPV or any other sexually transmitted diseases. But its important for young women to become vaccinated for HPV.”
Thanks to SixMeatBuffet for the idea.

Will Imus be Fired for Racist Slurs?
Apr 6th
I would be a bit surprised if Don Imus somehow retains his job after calling the Rutger’s Women’s NCAA Basketball team “Nappy Headed Ho’s” and “Jigaboos.”
From WNBC here:
On his “Imus In The Morning” show Thursday, he referred to the Rutgers women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.”
He was talking to Sid Rosenberg with Sports Talk on the phone about the Women’s NCAA Championship game.
Imus started out talking about the Rutgers team as, “some rough girls from Rutgers. They got tattoos,” and then went on to call them “some nappy-headed hos.”He compared them to the Tennessee team, saying “The girls from Tennessee — they all looked cute.” The conversation then went on to compare the game to “the jigaboos versus the wannabes.”
Imus has no ratings on the radio, and has even less on MSNBC. If it weren’t for the Internet, no one may have even known about this. And how old school do you have to get to pull out the word “Jigaboo?” Is that a slur from the roarin’ 20′s?

What Symantec Sings to Shareholders
Apr 5th
I have no idea why this has escaped my attention until now. Holy Crap, this must be the song that US-CERT plays to torture captured cyber-criminals. If you are into information security and click the picture of the Symantec Singer below, you should prepare to have your ears water-boarded.

And if their people is what makes the company strong, what was the deal with the recent layoffs? Does that mean the company is now weaker?

Liberalism and Lack of Judgement
Apr 5th
I have been aware for some time now that the only so-called “sin” that a Liberal recognizes is if someone passes judgement on something, someone, or an idea. These same Liberals have no concept of God or the Bible, and in fact, reject the whole concept of good and evil. The only sin is judgement. Everything is morally equivalent.
If you make a bad remark about someone, they will instantly become insulted- not because you said something about them that they didn’t like- but because “you don’t know me.” Its because you presumed to pass judgement. To a liberal, its a sin. Its wrong. And if you make a judgement, therefore, you are wrong.
This lack of judgement is foolish and stupid. Liberals wish to achieve a utopia where there is no bigotry, hatred, sexism, poverty or war. But to do it, they embrace all that is evil, wrong, and doomed to failure. They think that by eliminating all judgement between the differences of right and wrong and moral and immoral they will achieve this.
Evan Sayet can explain it much better. Click on his picture above or here to watch the video. Its long, but over 200,000 people have watched it on YouTube. It is great truthy analysis. Thanks to FloppingAces for the link.

Open Source Tools: Arbor Atlas
Apr 5th
Arbor Networks is in the unique position of having touchpoints all over the Internet with its Peakflow system. It allows them to aggregate data on a global basis, making them best situated to see real time attacks, threats, botnets and worms on the Internet.

As a public service, they created ATLAS, the Active Threat Level Analysis System, and they allow the public to see the data. This is a great way to determine if attacks against your organization are targeted or just typical traffic on the Internet.
They publish frequent threat briefings and keep a running blog on emergent trends and threats. They show the top attacks, not just the top scanned ports that are detected to occur on the internet. For instance, at the time of this posting, they have detected a doubling of attempts to overflow the Symantec Viruscanning software, while SSH attacks have dropped nearly in half.
They also keep a running tab on the top attacking IP addresses so you can keep your router filters up to date. And if you want IP history on things that are not on the list, you can register (if you qualify) to dig into their database. And you can subscribe to their blog here.

Carbon Credit Inheritance
Apr 4th
I have a nearly unlimited supply of carbon credits to offset my carbon footprint on this planet. I inherited them.
My family ancestors didn’t always drive cars, use electricity, and put carbon into the atmosphere. But they were wise people and knew that one day, their progeny would like to use all of the energy that they were denied. They didn’t know what this energy would one day be called, so they called it the “essential vim.” And each generation would endow the next with their built-up stocks of “essential vim” or EV for short.
That’s where I get most of my carbon offsets. I also salvage the rest of my offsets from dead famous people who are no longer able to sustain their carbon spewing lifestyles. My most famous collection of carbon offsets that I claimed after his death were those of Peter Jennings. He was a smoker and a world traveller. And he had a huge house that he is no longer using. So he had a pretty big carbon footprint. His credits will allow my family to barbecue steaks and chicken over authentic charcoal for the next fifty years.
Carbon Credit Salvage is really easy to do. You merely locate someone who has died (lets be fair and call that “going carbon neutral”) short of their anticipated life expectancy. You then take the difference of their life expectancy and their actual “Carbon Neutrality Moment” and you calculate how much carbon that person is saving the planet by being worm food. And you publically claim those credits as your own. Put it on the net; Google will track it for you.
For instance, you can’t really claim the remaining carbon credits of Larry Bud Melman, who became carbon neutral on March 21st. He had lived a full carbon spewing life.

However, claiming the credits of Anna Nicole Smith? Huge carbon footprint there. I call dibs! I have Anna Nicole Smith’s carbon credits. Now if you check Google in 24 hours, you can search for “I have Anna Nicole Smith’s carbon credits” and see that I and I alone have laid claim to them.
Start salvaging your credits today before its too late!

Lorelei Corpuz- Ugly Child Predator
Apr 4th
Meet Lorelei Corpuz- a lesbian child predator who poses as a man to assault young girls.
Lorelei met a twelve year old girl in a mall two years ago and convinced her that she was a 15 year old orphan boy, when in fact, she was a 28 year old woman with a long criminal history.

She convinced the twelve year old that her parents were dead and she wanted to be her boyfriend. For some stupid reason the victim’s parents (lets call them enablers) allowed the supposed child to move in with them as a live in boyfriend for their very underaged daughter.
Lots of rape ensues and finally Lorelei is behind bars. From KOMOtv here:
Everett police have accused a 30-year-old woman of posing as a boy and assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Papers filed in Everett District Court say Lorelei Josephine Corpuz presented herself as a 17-year-old boy named Mark Villanueva.
According to a police report, Corpuz befriended the teen-age girl in 2005 at a shopping mall and the family allowed “Mark” to live with the family as the young girl’s boyfriend.
Corpuz told the girl’s family that her mother died of cancer and that her father had committed suicide.
The true story came to light after “Mark” was pulled over for a traffic stop on Sunday with the girl in the car. Officers were told that Corpuz allegedly had beaten and sexually assaulted the girl.
Sergeant Robert Goetz says the family was surprised to learn that Mark was a 30-year-old woman. Corpuz was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of child rape and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
I think the children of this family need to be taken away from such irresponsible parents. No one should ever let a boyfriend move into the home of a 12 year old. How stupid and negligent are they?

A New Direction- Kneel to Islam
Apr 4th
I saw this photo at Six Meat Buffet with the caption of “A New Direction.” A new direction is what the Democrats are touting that this nation wanted as a result of the mid-term elections. But does that new direction not only have to be surrender to terrorists in Iraq, but supplication to Islam? During Passover? And Easter? In a terrorist supporting country of Syria?

Hey Nancy, you are NOT the Secretary of State.
And Bush, you wanna save this nation during this war time? Start prosecuting traitors. They are doing everything they can to bring charges against you. Time to bring some charges yourself.

4D Ultrasound Shots
Apr 4th
We went to get a 4D ultrasound of the baby today. A 4D Ultrasound is just like a regular one, but internal software renders the objects detected as having a skin-like coating. The results are pretty remarkable. First up is his little hand.

The baby really did not want to be photographed today. He hid behind his hands most of the time. The medical technician, named Tatyana, was really pressing the wand hard to get these next shots.

My wife was not really happy about getting this one done. It was way to early in the morning, the technician was too rough with her, the baby was kicking pretty hard, and the free procedure was mostly for fun.
As we were leaving and getting into the car, my wife told me, “I may not have gone to medical school for eight years like she did, but I could easily tell her that she was doing it wrong!”
So BURN! Take that, Tatyana, and don’t forget to pay your student loans.

McKinnon Loses Extradition Appeal
Apr 3rd
Doofus hacker extraordinaire Gary McKinnon received a stinging rebuke at his extradition appeals hearing from the presiding judge. McKinnon is trying to avoid being extradited by claiming that the US trial will violate his “human rights.”
From Reuters here:
Gary McKinnon was arrested in 2002 following charges by U.S. prosecutors that he illegally accessed 97 government computers — including Pentagon, U.S. army, navy and NASA systems — causing $700,000 worth of damage.
Two of Britain’s leading judges rejected a High Court challenge by McKinnon to an earlier court order backed by Britain’s Home Secretary that he should be extradited.
“We do not find any grounds of appeal against the decision,” said one of the judges, Lord Justice Maurice Kay.
“Mr McKinnon’s conduct was intentional and calculated to influence and affect the U.S. government by intimidation and coercion. As a result of his conduct, damage was caused to computers by impairing their integrity, availability and operation of programs, systems, information and data on the computers, rendering them unreliable,” Kay said.
He has one more appeal before he is crated up and sent over here. And I really wish that news companies would stop referring to McKinnon as a “computer security expert.” He’s not. He’s a kooky, bumbling loser and a twat.

Lucky and Flo Bag More DVD’s
Apr 3rd
Lucky and Flo, the two black labs that are trained to sniff out the polycarbonate used in the manufacture of DVD’s have made another huge find in their war against DVD pirates. This time they discovered a hidden room full of DVD’s valued at a half-million bucks.
From Reuters here:
Two Malaysian dogs trained to sniff out DVDs have made their second big discovery of pirated movies, leading investigators to a hidden stash worth more than $430,000, a local newspaper said Sunday.
Lucky and Flo, two black Labradors, sniffed out at least 150,000 discs in a secret compartment in a shop in the capital Saturday after anti-piracy officials, acting on a tip-off, raided the place but failed to find anything, the New Sunday Times said.“They decided to call in the canine brigade,” it said. “Within minutes, the two Labrador retrievers sniffed out the hidden discs in a room that could only be accessed by the push of a button hidden under a plug outlet.”
Is it just me or do other people think hidden rooms and secret passages are the coolest things in the world?

Tough Afghanistan Cop
Apr 3rd
My wife loves Marie Claire magazine. Unlike most fashion mags, Marie Claire always has great stories about women around the world who struggle against poverty, racism, and even the Taleban.
If you are a woman in a Muslim society and a victim of a crime, a male policeman won’t even talk to you. And if you are a female criminal, a male policeman won’t touch you to arrest you. If you are an injured female and need CPR, the male paramedics won’t touch you.
This month’s mag features a great story about the women cops of Kandahar, led by police captain Malalai Kakar. Kakar recruits women to the police force specifically because women are so endangered by the Muslim societal norms- such as severe divorce penalties, sexual assault, and wife beating.
And as a woman, she can make arrests on both men and women. One great story in the article was also told to the BBC here:
She wears a burqa when she works, but she stressed that she is not forced to. And she added that in some cases, the burqa actually helps her to do her job.
She recalled one horrific case where she was informed of a woman who had been imprisoned in a house for 10 months, chained by her hands and feet. When she went to the house, she was initially prevented from entering the house because the children would not open the door.
“Eventually, in my burqa, I convinced them I was their long-lost aunt, and they let me in,” she said.
“I entered the house and saw that the whole second floor was closed off… I searched all the rooms and saw a curtain, and pushed it aside… then came the sound of a human voice. When I shone the torch, I saw a woman and a child moving.
“They were all chained up, and when I asked the woman to come out, she whimpered and begged me not to kill her. It took me ages to get her out of there.”
The woman’s hands and feet were chained. Her son was also chained to her. Both had been living on tiny morsels of bread and water for nearly a year.
It finally transpired that she was the widow of the brother of her current husband. “When their relationship went bad, he’d divorced her,” Ms Kakar explained. “She’d gone round to the house to pick up her possessions, but he’d trapped her and put her in a cage.”
The real fight for women’s rights is in the Muslim society. Remarkable strides are being taken in Afghanistan and in Iraq to help secure freedom for women. I fear that cutting off troop funding will be a giant middle finger to women like Kakar who are struggling to make a difference.

No DWI for Zamboni Drivers
Apr 3rd
In New Jersey its okay to get plastered before you groom the ice rink. A drunken zamboni driver had his DWI overturned and his license reinstated on his appeal. His argument? The zamboni is not a motor vehicle.
From the AP here:
It’s not drunken driving in New Jersey if it involves a Zamboni.
A judge ruled the four-ton ice rink-grooming machines aren’t motor vehicles because they aren’t useable on highways and can’t carry passengers.
Zamboni operator John Peragallo had been charged with drunken driving in 2005 after a fellow employee at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown told police the machine was speeding and nearly crashed into the boards.
Police said Peragallo’s blood alcohol level was 0.12 percent. A level of 0.08 is considered legally drunk in New Jersey.
Peragallo appealed, and Superior Court Judge Joseph Falcone on Monday overturned his license revocation and penalties.
I wonder if that same argument can be used for these cases- one involving a lawnmower and the other, a horse.
