In celebration of Ashura, Shiite Muslims, who are pissed because Muhammad’s grandkid, Imam Hussein was killed nigh on 1.3 Millenia ago, march down the streets in Karbala, Iraq and shred their skin with whatever blades they can find. Some use chains, others use knives, machetes or swords. Not too sure why Imam Hussein was killed, but I’m sure he had it coming.
Kids like to get involved too.
And Sissy Spacek was once Shia Muslim. Lack of blood forced her to convert to Christianity.
Lesser known of the Muslim holidays is the day following Ashura in which the men congregate to splash Bactine on one another.

I hope with all my heart that if reincarnation is true I don’t end up in that part of the world in my next life.
