Pot Smokers Must Memorize Koran

The Saudis have their own war on drugs. Glue sniffers and pot smokers are sentenced to memorizing the Koran, or else they face a year in jail.

A Saudi court has ordered a drug user to spend six months memorizing the Koran, but he faces a year in prison if he fails to recite the Muslim holy book by heart, a newspaper said Tuesday.

There are more than 77,000 words in the Koran. It takes on average two years to study.

So if drugs are supposed to “free your mind” I guess it means that the koran shackles it. Actually, I don’t know what type of drug was used, but if it was a serious narcotic, it would be the ol’ “off with his head” routine by the brutal regime.
