Loading ...As a follow up to this story here, Robert Hatcher, assistant coach at Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, VA, was sentenced to 17 years behind bars for distributing kiddie porn. He had tried to use the excuse that he was legally blind so he couldnt really see the photos, which I guess could be called the “Mr. Magoo” defense, but the judge sneered and gaveled him to 17 years in the prison.

A Kecoughtan High School teacher’s desire to receive treatment for an addiction to child pornography should have come years before the man was arrested last May on federal pornography charges, a U.S. District Court judge said Friday.
But Robert Hatcher never sought help during the 10 years he looked at and traded images all over the world of children, some as young as 4 or 5 years old, engaging in sexual acts with adults, Judge Jerome Friedman said during Hatcher’s sentencing hearing in Norfolk.
A request to reduce Hatcher’s sentence because he is legally blind was denied. Calling what Hatcher did disgusting and degrading to children, Friedman sentenced the former physical education teacher to 17 years in prison.

WHAT A SHOCK. I KNEW THIS MAN FOR A LONG TIME AND NEVER SAW ANYTHING THAT WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT HE WAS LIKE THAT. I GUESS THAT IS WHY I MAKE SURE I ALWAYS KNOW WHERE MY KIDS ARE. I COACHED AND SWAM WITH THIS MAN. WERE THERE CLUES THAT I MISSED?
DID HE EVOLVE INTO THIS PERSON OR WAS HE PROGRAMMED FROM CHILDHOOD? I HAVE KNOWN HIM SINCE 1986, UNBELIEVAVBLE.

Im not sure if he “evolved” into this or not. My nephew had him as a coach and he and several other kids thought he was creepy. But creepy doesn’t necessarily mean he deals with porn. Some people get started on the wrong path and don’t choose to get off.
