Loading ...So if there is an outbreak of a disease in China, its not the fault of state-sponsored medicine and the ineptness that comes with it. No, it must be the fault of the carriers of the disease.
This photo will be disturbing to animal lovers. Maybe PETA can go to China and tell the commies to stop doing this. But they are too busy equating chickens to slavery.
Three people in a Chinese province get rabies. Rather than requiring dog owners to get a rabies vaccine for the dogs, the government offers 63 cents to all owners that voluntarily kill their own dogs. Those that dont kill the dogs? Roving dog-killing bands will kill them for you.

SHANGHAI, China - China slaughtered 50,000 dogs in a government-ordered crackdown after three people died of rabies, sparking unusually pointed criticism in state media Tuesday and an outcry from animal rights activists.
Health experts said the brutal policy pointed to deep weaknesses in the health care infrastructure in China, where only 3 percent of dogs are vaccinated against rabies and more than 2,000 people die of the disease each year.
The five-day slaughter in Mouding county in Yunnan province in southwestern China ended Sunday and spared only military guard dogs and police canine units, state media reported.
Dogs being walked were seized from their owners and beaten to death on the spot, the Shanghai Daily newspaper reported. Led by the county police chief, killing teams entered villages at night creating noise to get dogs barking, then beat the animals to death, the reports said.
Owners were offered 63 cents per animal to kill their own dogs before the teams were sent in, they said.
I am not an animal rights activist at all. This is just pure negligence by China. Rather than requiring animals to be vaccinated, they allow 2000 people to die of rabies. I dont really care what the Chinese do to their dogs. But to allow 2000 deaths due to rabies in unconscionable, especially given the availability of a rabies vaccine.
But PETA thinks its much more wrong to legally control a seal population. PETA doesnt have the balls to stand up to a Communist country. If they tried to have protests over there like they have here, they would be locked away like the Falun Gong.
