Having Me Some Pasties

My wife found this awesome recipe on British Pasties in FoodNetwork magazine.

The recipe is:

Brown 1/2 pound sausage in a skillet with 1/4 cup chopped onion and 1 each diced celery stalk and carrot. Add 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, and salt and pepper. Roll out a can of refrigerated biscuit dough and cut into twelve 3-inch rounds. Top each with a spoonful of meat filling and fold in half; pinch to seal and brush with a beaten egg. Make slits in the top and bake at 350 degrees F until golden, about 15 minutes.
The pasty was on its way to getting trademarked.

I’m not a big ketchup user. I’m one of those weirdos who would rather dip my fries into mustard or BBQ sauce than the red stuff. But I do have to say I think this is a fantastic evolution of the ketchup pack. What took so long?

Plymouth Fish and Chips

I’m stuck on an airplane in Chicago because the plane has too much fuel and they have to drain it out and it takes an hour to do that. I’m hungry too. I stumbled across this pic of some awesome fish and chips I had over in Plymouth in the UK. Nom nom!
