Great Burp, Bad Camera Phone
Mar 31st
If you want to get featured on this site, don’t use a camera phone unless it takes top quality video. I am only posting this one as an example of how to muff a great belch by using a cruddy phone.
I Can Haz Jonez Soda?
Mar 28th
I have featured Jones Soda on this site before here and here. They are famous for making really bizarre tasting soft drinks like mashed potatoes and turkey and even dirt soda.

Now they have teamed up with everyone’s favorite LOLcat site to make a soda with a Lolcat on it. Not too sure what lolcat soda will taste like, and it may give you hairballs, but if you want to make a LOLcat photo and hope it gets put on a bottle of Jones Soda, go here.
The McNuggetini
Mar 28th
This looks totally gross, but if you are already tipsy after coming home from the bar and have the munch, this may be the perfect drink for you.

The ingredients is Chocolate shake, vodka, glass rimmed with McDonald’s barbecue sause and chicken nugget for garnish. I’m too scared to try it. But it looks oddly yummy.
The full post is here at Georgiaisyourfriend by way of SoGood.

Pitching a Mouth-Tent for BK Cheesy Tots
Mar 18th
Its a hilarious commercial for Burger King’s Cheesy Tots. It features an embarrassed youth dealing with a stiff tongue in the morning and only able to satisfy its early morning turgidity by stopping by the BK Lounge. Click to enjoy.
Leave it to a Texan to Make Rattlesnake Vodka
Mar 18th
Vodka with a bite. Its totally illegal, though, and it was destined for China where those crazy bastards think everything is some sort of aphrodisiac.

From FoxNews here:
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission officials were rattled last Thursday by the discovery of over 400 bottles of illegal booze, each containing a 10-inch rattlesnake in the bottle. TABC agents raided Bayou Bob’s Brazos River Rattlesnake Ranch after the reptile-infused vodka was sold to undercover agents. 411 bottles of the serpent sauce were seized.
Infusing alcohol with snakes or scorpions is believed to possess aphrodisiac properties, TABC officials told the paper. The practice, in which alcohol is poured over the body of a snake or scorpion, is popular in Asian cultures.
Beer Tasting at the Grocery Store
Mar 11th
I would have thought that they would already be doing this out in Washington State. They are definitely late to the party. Many states allow for beer tasting and wine tasting while shopping. In fact, I picked a great Chardonnay at Sam’s Club the other day because of a free tasting.

But in Washington State, the shopping just got more fun according to the AP here:
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington lawmakers have approved a pilot program that will allow beer and wine tasting in 30 grocery stores statewide in an effort to market local products.
The one-year program, strongly supported by the state’s microbrewery and wine industries, allows shoppers to sample as much as 4 ounces of beer or wine. Supporters say it allows small wineries or breweries with no marketing budget to get their products out to the public.
Springtime Grilled Rack of Lamb
Mar 3rd
I got to cook out last evening and had one of the most wonderful dinners: Grilled Rack of Lamb.

The Meat:
I got two racks of lamb, frenched, from the local butcher counter. You may find better quality cuts and prices at Sam’s club or Cosco. Trim any excess fat and apply the dry rub, (below) using your fingers to massage the spices into the meat. Intertwine the bones and cover the bones with aluminum foil to prevent them from scorching. Allow the meat to sit out at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes before placing on the grill.
The Rub:
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp dried garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Herbs de Provence
- 1/2 tsp Thyme
- 1 tsp Rosemary
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 tsp mustard seed
- pinch of cayenne pepper
Grind the ingredients together using a mortar and pestle until the mustard seeds are powderized.
The Grill:
The grill should be set for “direct medium heat,” and preferably, a charcoal grill. “Direct medium” is a single layer of hot coals tightly spaced. Place the twin racks of lamb on the grill with both sets of bones on the top for seven minutes. Then flip the racks so one side is touching the grill, bone side down, for seven minutes. Then flip so the other side is touching the grill bone side down for seven minutes. This should result in Medium Rare temps, or 130 degrees internally. Remove from grill and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
The Sides:
Grilled Asparagus, mashed potatoes, and fresh bread.
The Wine:
Preferably a smooth Syrah or semi-dry red table wine. Merlots or Cabs may be too strong for pairing.
