Cartoon Snowmen Do It
Feb 27th
Spring is rushing in, thanks in part to the expulsion of burps from all of the snowmen. Yes, kids, it is snowmen burps that causes the planet to warm up for springtime. Tell that to your teachers. An even lesser known fact is that they belch Beethoven’s Ninth.

Belch.Com in the News
Feb 25th
My Website has been mentioned in the news several times before. It was the “hot site of the week” in USA Today once. And my website was featured in the centerfold pullout for Maxim Magazine’s 50 best websites.
Today I was listed in an article in the Toronto Star here.
Hostage lunch: a meal, often pizza, paid for by the company and delivered to employees whose bosses require them to attend a meeting on their lunch hour. E.g.: “I was planning on running some errands over my lunch hour, but the VP is keeping us in a meeting. At least he ordered us hostage lunch.” (UrbanDictionary.com)
Thursday is Pig Day. The saying “sweat like a pig” is a misnomer: pigs can’t sweat. Their well-known method of cooling off (rolling around in the mud) has contributed to the misconception that they’re dirty. (brownielocks.com; pbs.org) Sir Isaac Newton is credited with inventing the cat flap. (mentalfloss.com)
Fig Newtons were not named after the inventor of the cat flap. Rather, they took their moniker from Newton, Mass., a town near the regional bakery that created them. (As one wag noted, “Thank it wasn’t near Belchertown.”) (straightdope.com)
Belch.com has accumulated “the largest collection of digitally recorded belches on the Net:” 550.(belch.com) Thursday is National Beer Day in Iceland. It marks the end of a 75-year prohibition of the beverage, which expired on March 1, 1989. (www.geographia.com/iceland)
On this day in 1940, a hockey game was televised for the first time. Viewers of New York station W2XBS saw the Rangers beat the Montreal Canadiens, 6-2, at Madison Square Garden. (Hockey Night in Canada debuted on CBC-TV in 1952.) (nytimes.com/learning)
Dry ice weighs about twice as much as regular ice. (dryiceinfo.com)
How cool are you if you’re as cool as a cucumber? The inside of the fruit can be up to 20 degrees F (11C) cooler than the outside temperature. (foodreference.com)
Yuppie food stamps: “the $20 bills that everyone gets from ATMs. They become an issue when a group goes out to eat and it comes time to pay. Each person owes $11 and no one has anything smaller than a $20.” (BuzzWhack.com)
Thanks to John Sakamoto for the mention in the article!
Troegs Brewery
Feb 21st
I stumbled upon this excellent commercial and became intrigued by the Brewery as well. Troegs is a small micro-brewery in Pennsylvania that has a line of beers. Learn about all of their great beers at their homepage here, or click on the bottle below to see their site.
Oh Yeah, click on the babe in the bikini to hear her talk about beer. And of course, she belches!

Some things never change, like kids needing haircuts. Jrarrmy has a cute tutorial video on what it takes to be a belcher. Click the photo to see the movie. And you can visit his website here.
Big Rock Brewery Commercial
Feb 21st
This is one of the best commercials for beer that features belching ever made. It shows the product, features belches, rock and roll, and fun. Definitely a Best of the Best winner.

109 Decibel Reulpser
Feb 21st
A Reulpser is a belch in German. This German engineer belches into a meter that reads decibel levels, and it comes out at an amazing 109 decibels. That sound is the equivalent level of noise as a running chain saw. Yahoo health says that regular exposure to noises that loud for more than one minute poses a risk of permanent hearing loss.
This gets a cool spinner for having a scientific measurement.

Burping Canuck
Feb 21st
According to Youtube, this is “The unofficial Burping champion of the Majestic Colonial – Punta Cana shows off part of his vigorous training before the big contest. Filmed in London, Ontario at the notorious Unit 11 on Third St.” The belches are okay, but the brave cameraman who keeps going in for the tight shots of the larynx is the best part. Superbowl LXI Bud Light Hitcher

Superbowl LXI Doritos Checkout Girl
Feb 5th
An excellent commercial, which was submitted by a fan. It cleverly highlights all of the flavors and provides some shocking humor as well. I don’t know about you guys, but I hate having conversations with the checkout clerks. I like the self-checkout kiosks. Click the image below to see the commercial.
Belching Insolence
Feb 5th
This lady is chugging soft drinks and making belching videos. She is not fabulous at it, but she is certainly persistent. And as a tip to those with webcams- Take a few minutes and pick up your dirty clothes. Not everyone wants to see your clutter. At least clean what the camera picks up. Or, keep it real and just be a piggy slob. Click the picture to see the video or just click here.
Josh B’s Dr. Pepper Belch
Feb 5th
Its not the best, but it does show the proper preparation vis-a-vis the consumption of a fizzy drink before the attempt. Click the photo or here to see the vid.
